I have one question regarding the banner above us. Why is there not a unique Attack of the Clones banner for?

There are a couple reasons. First off, the majority of that banner contains images from AOTC. Second, I had heard that there was an AOTC forum banner in the works a while back, but the banner admin recently stepped down, so I won't know any more about that, or about the possibility of having a banner contest, until a new banner admin is appointed.

I thought of a great idea to help dissolve conflict on the boards.

We should have houses like at hogwarts in Harry potter. Which house you are a part of has nothing to do with being a gusher, basher, EU fan, or what ever, it is decided at random. This will give people who normally don't get to interact, or those who often disagree a chance to work together.

And jsut like Hogwarts we'll have points, soem kind of cotnest to work towards,or even just pride of a job well done. Good posts, and giving newbies a friendly helping hand, starting good topics that go over 100 posts and resolving conflicts amongst other JCers can earn your house points, flaming, trolling, redundant threads and bannings will result in point deductions.

Wht does everyone think? Am I a big Loser :D

Even if I am, we should do this anyways.

That's actually not too bad of an idea. I'll have to think about it, and try to think of an easy way to implement it.

For now, I'd just suggest that everyone, whether "basher", "gusher" or something else, visit and post in the social thread. It's a good way to get to know everyone else, and it's a good place to put any differences you may have aside, and just hang out with one another. I think many people would be surprised how much they may have in common with people on the other side of the issue.

    Was that not your intent?

Lord this feels like a parody of 'Goodfellas' gone wrong.

Anyways it doesn't matter, let me know YJ about the whole house cup idea, I'd happily help organize it.

I feel this forum, and more so the film, is beginning to suffer from a backlash. Unfortunately, it is suffering the same fate of TPM, although not as soon.

I think TPM was more of an instant backlash, peopel either did or did not like jarjar or Jake Lloyd.

With AOTC its numerous flaws less aparent, it took a while for people to see, so its dissenters are appearing much after the fact.

That said, those who liked it are most likely going to have liked it from day 1, its unlikely someone who dislikes it would suddenly pull a 180, though I'm sure it must happen. I had to see TTT 3 times before I really liked it.

I think TPM was more of an instant backlash, peopel either did or did not like jarjar or Jake Lloyd.

There was both an instant backlash, egged on by the media hyping up Jake Lloyd (Mannequin Skywalker comments) and Jar Jar (calling him racially offensive, hyping up his character until it seemed like the movie was two hours of Jar Jar), and a belated one, with people who initially liked it saying that it sucked, after months of vicious trashing in the media and on message boards.

Shelley, its insulting to all involved to imply that the reason people do not like a movie is because the media trained them to think so. Your implication is that anyone who does not like TPM or AOTC is mindless with no free will.

Yep, months later and it's still down in the slums that the bashers and the conflict that resulted because of them drug it to.

Meanwhile we should be enjoying this time before the final SW movie debuts, but many of us have gone elsewhere because this "fansite" has become more of a hater site.

When is something going to be done?

This forums is going down like Jenna Jameson in a porno flick. The basher/nit pickers have ruined it. I hate coming here now... I show up like once a month... then get agrivated when someone complains about the shoes mace widu wore, and I leave.

So instead of spreading venom you two, why not start some threads about something posistive?

Lead by example. Take something about the movie you like and discuss it.

I am just glad I haven't heard about LotR over the last few days. There are plenty of good LotR sites let them deal with that film series.

As for alot of people I think many troll subtly and like to take gouges at the few actual Star Wars fans that hang out here. Myself I see very little point to hang out on a board for a movie I do not like. They have a board for the OT and they have a board for Episode 3 so why must the hater of the film hang out here? Almost a year later no less? Seems quite pathetic. I hate Alien4 but liked the other films. You don't see me going to the aliens site bringing it up every day or so. In fact I prefer to visit sites that discuss things I enjoy.
