-25 wind chill, BAH! You Calgary people have it easy. A week ago here in Edmonton, it was -40 wind chill. Now THATS cold!

I think that it is easier to stay warm when it is cold out, than it is to stay cool when it is hot out.

I know this is un-Canadian of me, but what's a chinook?

A chinook is a warm wind that blows over the Rocky Mountains. It is a wind that blows east from the Pacific ocean and loses all its moisture over the West side of the Rocky Mountains. The wind blows down onto Southern Alberta (and states below) and it warms up the temperatures and melts most of the snow. Chinooks form a "chinook arch" (so an arch in the sky in the West) and it also includes a fairly rapid change in pressure. And if you're highly susceptible to headaches (like me) you hate chinooks.

Does that sort of answer your question?

    Yes, it does, thank you.

Vancouver gets the rain, you get the warmth. Figures. :p ;)

I hope mother nature hooks us up with some of that, Mike. I don't like these harsh conditions one bit. I want my BC winters back!

You people are all a bunch of wussies. Saskatchewan usually gets below 40, sometimes even below 45 to 50 at extreme times. SO...suck it up!!!
