Lit Are there any Legends EU works that you wish got "Special Editions"?

I'm not talking Special Editions to match TCW and/or the Disney canon, but rather to match the prequels and newer Legends works and to incorporate new info.

For example, I would have liked for Cloak of Deception and Labyrinth of Evil to get Special Editions that don't hide that Palpatine is Sidious and I'd have liked Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith to get a Special Edition in light of what was later established about Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos.

 

None. I don't like the idea of going back and tinkering with things, and I abhor every change that Lucas has made to the Orig Trij. If I were to watch them on DVD I'd go with the theatrical cuts that were released around 06/'07, every time. I've never been on board with the popular fan idea of a Dark Empire novelization, and in general I prefer to let things lie and to continue to reflect the times during which they were created (did THX-1138 really need CGI Ape-men, George?). I mean, I love that you can feel how 1993 The Last Command is. Let the works lie, and if there's any continuity error it can be addressed in one or two lines in the next sourcebook.

I actually found it kind of weird when someone here revealed that one of Karen Miller's Clone Wars novels, released post-Ep III, did explicitly reveal that Frank and Sidious were the same dude. It felt... wrong.

 

If you mean like original stories from the EU, I'd definitely say NJO - the only problem would be creating the Yuuzhan Vong and the rating, some things in books can be pretty graphic.
Mostly I'd just like to see the Solo family, Mara Jade and the New Jedi Order Luke built.

 

The Thrawn Trilogy, with at least more accurate references to the Clone Wars. Not necessarily references to the show, but at least explaining the differences between Kamino and Spaarti Cylinder cloning systems.

 

NJO: References to prequel species and worlds-maybe just add in some lines-"the Vong have taken Cato Neimodia" or "Muunilinst has fallen"

DE: Have the name Darth Sidious used and slip in a few references to Plagueis.

HoT: More detailed references to the prequels and their end.

 

The Jedi Prince series visited most of the Classic Trilogy worlds, but not Endor. It needed a scene added where Ken tells his tale of genealogical woe to Mount Sorrow.

I'm on the same boat (Though not as strict with the OT special editions but i get the sentiment) nor am I big fan when people try to head canon continuity errors or just things we didn't know (Like the Clone Wars in TTT) when reading the book, I prefer to remember what were some of the real life things happening during the making of the Novel.

 

If NJO could be redone, this being totally for fleet junkies, I'd redo it so all new New Republic Star Destroyers were either Republic or Nebula instead of Imperial I & Imperial II-classes. The Rejuvenator can be a Nebula, the Elegos A'Kla, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa are Republic with the hidden interdictor technologies (though unsure how that worked anyway). Rebel Dream can stay (it being among the few older Imperial-classes the NR retains) but yeah, no NEW Imperial-classes! Kuat can build the Corona-class frigates instead.
I'd also replace references to escort frigates with either Corona or Sacheen since its clear those classes replaced the Nebulon-B, gunships as Ranger-class gunships, Republic-class cruisers (dumb designation) can be Majestic, Belarus or Proficient-class cruisers, corvettes as Agave-class or new Corellian corvettes (CR100 or CR110 anyone?). Heck, it'd clear up everything.
