It might be interesting (and a consolation) if she does appear at some point in the new TCW episodes. I liked her character too.

I hope we will get the chance to see the Dark Disciple on screen.

I could watch Ventress punch Vos for calling her “honey” on repeat.

as much as i enjoyed the dark disciple book, i for some reason felt that Ventress and Vos relationship was forced, also was Ventress out of character.

The way I looked at it, she was essentially out of character the moment Dooku dumped her and left her fending for herself. I liked that Bounty Hunters episode where she goes along with Boba's gang to protect the "cargo" on the train; she's essentially making a new name for herself and earning credits while she's at it. And then of course she helps Ahsoka in "The Wrong Jedi" because she knew what it was like to have a falling out with the people you thought were on your side. She was independent and a free-thinker; I actually liked that side of her better than the traditional cardboard cutout of a villain who just wants to kill Jedi.

I didn't even know she was part of Legends. I'm talking about the canon material.

What Legends material was she in? Was this before her appearance in the Micro Series?

That was "Obsession", a three-part comic about Obi-Wan's hunt for Ventress til Boz Pity. That comic was published by Dark Horse Comics. It ran from November 24, 2004 to May 18, 2005 and served as prelude and tie-in to RotS. The micro series run from 2003-2005, so "Obsession" was at the same time and probably the first attempt to write Ventress off the Clone Wars after Genndy Tartakovsky did introduce her to the general audience.

In "Obsession" Ventress was saved on Boz Pity by Obi-Wan, after Dooku fled and abandoned her on the cemetary planet. Obi-Wan brought Ventress to a Republican ship which was abducted by Ventress afterwards in order to bring her, according to her words: Far away from the war.

So at what point did was she supposed to have become Dooku's apprentice?

That is a good question. Given the fact that her Jedi Master Ky Narec already had trained his Padawan in the ways of the force and the handling of a lightsaber, her training under Dooku did probably start shortly after the Battle of Geonosis.

There is another Legends source about Ventress, the Panini comic Clone Wars, vol. 2, 2003 with several war stories, amongst them "(Republic 53) Blast Radius" where Ventress is taking Obi-Wan prisoner and is torturing him.
This comic is set 10 months after the Battle of Geonosis. Btw. Ventress' tattoos in this comic are quite the same like in "Obsession".

Does the flashback scene in TCW reflect anything from the Legends material on Ventress?

Ventress' background having been on Rattatak with Master Hal'sted was legends and confirmed in that flash back, Ventress' origin from Dathomir meanwhile is the newly added retcon, because in legends her origin was Rattataki.

Because I thought the discussion was over at which point the Legends material on Ventress veered off and the new stories were canonized in the Micro Series and especially TCW. Wasn't she essentially a lone assassin under Dooku's wing? Who's that guy behind her?

    What? That is Durge!
    You know, this guy.

The Legends Ventress material was made alongside the micro series. I'm not aware of any veering off until TCW started doing it.

Too one-dimensional for me. At least as powerful as Savage was in TCW, he still had his weaknesses and in the end was essentially exposed as nothing more than a puppet. You took pity on him.
