    Yes, Mark Antony is the anglicized form of Marcus Antonius. Whereas Marc Anthony is a singer. :p

    Also I don’t think you can really classify Antony as a bit player. He was a pretty successful general in his own right, controlled half of the Roman Republic as an equal part of the triumvirate of Octavius, Lepidus and himself and was only eclipsed by Augustus who along with his great uncle Caesar is probably one of the two greatest Roman leaders.
