I've met a lot of Australians on my travel in Mexico. It was amazing that every single one of them is busy travelling around the world, hopping from country to country, until they are back in Australia after a year or so... (Is it true that 20% of the Australian population is travelling abroad?)

Did you ever hear of UserFriendly evil-incarnate? they had a trip to australia in april
(see this for example. I liked it, wonder what you think of it (well, and looking through the obviously computerperson aimed sense of humor perhaps.)

    "thunder box" interesting....

Never heard it called THAT before, commonly referred to here as "the dunny" or "the loo".

Also, the word "crikey" hasnt been used since the 60's.
My one wish is to see the KNVB team play & hear the crowd singing along to triumphal march.
That would go off. I've seen it on TV many times but being there live.... [face_hypnotized]

You guys know anything of Aussie Rules Football ?

No, but I suppose it's like "no rules" football?

Kind of a cross between American Gridiron, Rugby & a whole bunch of rules that we invented.
No padding. VERY ROUGH - full body contact is essential.

    checkout afl.com.au

    LMK what you think.

I have seen it. Not the sport for me too play, most of the time. But good to get rid of frustrations and just get down to it. I think.

Well we don't have people from Luxemburg here, but I thought they speak French there?

Perhaps a French dialect or something.

They speak French, German or Lëtzebuergesch (by the "real" natives) which is also spoken in parts of Belgium (Aarle), France, and Germany neighbouring Luxemburg. This last language used to be seen as a remote dialect of German, but after WWII they insist it is a seperate language. Just to provide some very usefull facts on a saturday morning :p

I have heard that at occasions (ie. when I was up before 7:45 on the rtl-4 tv-station as they reroll the rtl news until that time)

    And a good morning!

The Luxemburg Orchestra visited us in may this year, they speak their own dialect, but also plain Germen and French. Many of them also spoke English and. . . . Danish. . .
