As roughly two and a half of you may have noticed, the Authors & Artists forum suspiciously disappeared during the move...

    Everybody panic.

    ...

    Wait! Do not panic!

I come before you today to reveal that Authors & Artists has not disappeared---it is merely in hiding. All Authors & Artists threads have been moved into the Literature forum, and tagged with an orange A&A prefix. Just like this very thread.

The A&A threads are many pages back, due to inactivity, but fear not. They are there. You can find them by prefix filtering, or maybe some sort of fancy Advanced Search black magic.

You may ask yourself, why move these venerable threads?

The lit mods felt that having a separate Authors & Artists forum was an impediment to discussion. Most of the threads were autolocked due to months of inactivity. It's likely that many users were not even aware that Authors & Artists existed. The place was a ghost town.

Authors are Literature. Artists are Literature. And we think those threads belong in Literature. We hope that they will be far more active here than they were in their own forum.

    --

As always, message a mod if you want to re-open an old, locked A&A thread. Also, please message a mod before you start a new author or artist thread. We'll probably say yes, so it's just a formality.

In many of the more relaxed civilizations in the Galaxy Far Far Away, the Literature Forum has already supplanted the great Forumus Temporarius the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for though it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least wildly inaccurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important respects.
First, it is slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words EVERYONE PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters by a mod in the first topic.

Good a place to ask as any: is there a reason why in some of the older threads, such as the Authors and Artists threads, some longer posts are cut in half? Will these posts content come back later?

    This should answer your question.

Anyway, the main potential problem I see with integrating the A&A threads is that they may easily get lost in the mountains of threads. After time goes by, users may stop commenting, and of course the author, should they stop by, probably don't want to bump their own thread.

Do what Community does- put tabs up at the top of the lit board. Otherwise why else have the Lit and A&A tags anyway?
