"Baby Shower" for the Thornton Family

Hello Everyone.

As some of you know, Jonathan & Linda Thornton have opened their home for foster care. In fact, they are taking care of a sweet baby boy Eric.

In honor of their generosity, we thought it would be a nice idea to throw them a 'baby' shower, not just for Eric, but for the different children they will be bringing into their home.

So during the Anniversary BBQ we are going to have a time to share what we can with Jonathan and Linda. They are not 'registering' anywhere; however here are some suggestions on what they need.

For Ages 6 months to 6 Years Old
-Toys, preferable cloth or wood
-Clothes and Shoes
-Gift Certificates to Kid-Friendly Places

There has been a request for no large items or no diapers. Items that are used are fine as well.

On a special note, please do not feel obligated to bring anything...this is just a time to honor the Thornton's for what they are doing for the community, however, no one should feel as if they should HAVE to bring something. You can just help us celebrate them.

i know of a great place that makes wooden scissors that are great for running

 

for all the running around that Eric is doing right?

 

How about a gift card, Mel. Instead of having tons of misc child gear stored at their house, I thought a gift card to Target or some other baby supply store might be a good idea. *shrug*

 

Hey, the invite says ages 6mos to 6 years, I know somewhere between those ages someone will be running. And it states the presents don't have to be for Eric, but all the future ankle bitters they will have in there home.

 

that is a great idea...i think whatever works out for you. I know they will be appreciative either way.

 

okay then...thats what I will do.

 

Besides...Target is kid friendly.

 

Target is everyone friendly. It is the only large store in Ptown I can shop in without feeling homicidal. A lil bird told me we are getting our very own super target soon. Thats about as excitin as 'lectricity around these parts. Soon, I will never have to shop anywhere else.

 

You know, since we actually have the target distribution warehouse located in this town, I do find it quite funny that we only have a little tiny target store...

Can't wait for the super one!!

We do still have Eric and he'll be with us. No worries if anything you bring isn't for someone currently his age (2 months). All will be used. Thanks!
