Yep, that's how I feel exactly. First ever Celebration, and almost assuredly my last.

On the bright side, we all probably have a lot more free time to arrange a meet up.

Someone on Facebook who goes to NYCC says that they let you enter the registered email of up to 3 ppl with you when you sign up for the lottery. Then you found out a week or so later if you are in. You have to accept your spot (so if it conflicts something or you changed your mind, you deny it) and then you tap your badge at the line area. They arrived at times around 30 mins prior to big panels and were mid half in the room for seats

If I see more info I’ll share

I wonder if registering by yourself hurts or helps.

I don’t know honestly. Makes me wonder if it’s better to try in groups and the whole party registers each other

That's good to know. Does that mean if you have 2 people you can have 2 chances, 3,4 etc.

A thought I had: maybe do some of us, depending on how it works out, want to arrange groups? If it's the same odds for 1 person getting 1 seat versus 1 getting 4 (need to look into if it is or at least a positive), that could help a lot of us get into these panels if we each submit a group.

The flip side to that argument is if there's a lot of single seats at the end of rows that go to people who register on their own. It's hard to say without more info.

Yeah, that's why it might be good to see if we can find any NYCC people who've used this similar situation to get more specifics (or ReedPOP could tell us specifics but heh less likely)

Yeah, one thing is that it is easier to assign seats in an arena with sections and rows than a ballroom with a bunch of chairs.

I'm hoping groups have to list the badges for all members and you can't be in multiple groups. For example, my friends and I bought tickets as a group of four, if we had our badges and activated them, the NYCC system would effectively give us 4 group entries into the lottery as we'd each enter individually with plus 3 friends. But then those coming by Will Call apparently activate by using their purchase ref, so the same four people coming by Will Call would only get one group entry which puts international guests at a big disadvantage.

And if you're in a group of 5, you get to have the awkward discussion of which friend you hate the most.

Why would the activation at Will Call stop people from getting multiple entries? Doesn't each badge have their own RFID code and thus would still each get an entry, even if they need the purchase ref in order to pick them up.

I'm on my own, so I'm certainly open to teaming up if it seems advantageous.

From Facebook: important for international attendees
Some information that can hopefully help everyone out. I called ReedPop and after an hour and fifteen minutes of holding finally got to talk to someone. According to this customer service rep

    1. All badges will ship by Friday.
    2. Everyone that is eligible to have your badge shipped should have them by Tuesday.
    3. In the event that the app goes live and lotteries for panels or exclusives go up you can use your confirmation number to register for them, keeping it fair for everyone. This would make sense as international guests will have to pick up their badges.

I don’t have anymore information than this. Hopefully this helps.
