Bail Antilles/Organa?

why is he referred to as Antilles in TPM but goes by Organa in AOTC?

 

Simply because they are two different people. Bail Antilles was the Senator of Alderaan before Bail Organa took the position.

Two different people, same first name.

From what I've heard over the years the name Bail is like John and Antilles is like Smith in the Star Wars universe there common.

 

What really happened is there is a cut scene in Ep I, where BAIL ORGANA seconds Amidala's notion. Except ORGANA was played by someone else. The actor said in interviews, he was cast to appear in the next two, but Lucas called him and said for whatever reasons, he couldn't have him in the film. Panaka's original line was Bail Organa, but seeing as he wasn't to appear till Ep II, his line was changed to Bail Antillies. It's as simple as that.

 

Yes, Adrian Dunbar played Bail Organa in the cut scenes but his character was changed to Bail Antilles when George decided to recast Bail Organa for AOTC.
