i had no idea until yesterday the surface in that stadium is artificial

 

So my brothers' at tonight's game. He said the Rays players during batting practice were attempting to toss balls into the crowd to fans wearing Rays jerseys and hats. When they had a hard time finding many, they wound up tossing the balls to anyone nearby. He got a WS ball himself.

That bottom of the 9th for the Dodger hitters was just ****ing awful... hacking away at nearly every pitch; heaven forbid a count is worked. Hoping Buheler can keep his walks down for game 3.

That's saying something; considering only 20 years ago was the Subway Series. I didn't remember since it's been so long; but I thought it was interesting that the Yankees had beaten the A's in the ALDS and the Mets had beaten the Giants in the NLDS that same year. In another universe it might've been a Bay Area Series. like '89.

Baseball is the best. If my job could be watching and analyzing baseball that would be fine by me, but sadly I have a life and am vastly underqualified to be a part of a professional team in any capacity.

The World Series is kinda like Christmas for me though.

I'm currently reading a book called Think Better Baseball and am reminded of all the intricacies of the game. Fascinating!

 

As someone who's been away a long time, all the defensive shifts drive me crazy. Lay down a god damn bunt! Go the other way! There's literally nobody on that side of the field! Hitting 1000 with all singles against the shift is the same as slugging 1000. Some of these scrubs hitting below the Mendoza line need to try it before they find themselves out of baseball.

Damn, I'm so excited for tonights game. Series tied. Both teams have been so powerful offensively.

And let's get real. Some of the defensive plays these guys make are unreal. It's like Sci Fi. That Dodgers double play, what was it a 1-6 to second? Anyhow, I can't recall, but the defensive plays these guys make are like looking at paintings in the Louvre or whatever, I've never been there, but who cares, that's why I have baseball.
