Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena detained after domestic violence allegations
finally a heartwarming story about a former ballplayer that didn't go broke
Makes sense he couldn't stop hitting after the playoffs...
//is going to hell...
Camargo re-resigned for a year. I must have been out of the baseball loop because I didn’t know he was a free agent.
He wasn't a free agent, today is the non-tender deadline for teams to offer players still under team control a contract. Had they not offered him one, he'd have become a free agent.
Gonna be a lot of that today.
Thanks—I’m pretty naive about baseball because I didn’t grow up discussing it like football and basketball (or soccer, which I played).
Schwarber non tendered by the Cubs
crazy times in the economy of sports
this is fun
lots of dan haren. and look over there, it's barry zito - high and inside (right).
RIP Dick Allen. The Phillies just retired his number this past season. Would have been easy to postpone it till fans are back in the stands, but it's always nice when these things aren't done too late.
MLB umpire Brian O'Nora arrested in human trafficking sting.
Looks like Cleveland will be changing their name, announcement expected this week. Hope they go with Spiders.
CGI- edited Major League: Special Edition release date TBA
Hmm...what are the other choices?
Naps, Blues and Bronchos are the other franchise names. I think Fellers would be an awesome name.
Just go with Spiders-- it's already used informally by fans and has been for a long time.
Spiderman cosplay will be much more seen in Cleveland now
As long as it's not "The Cleveland Baseball Team" like a suggestion I saw on MLB trade rumors
i told you guys, the Robins
Cleveland Baseball Club
Cleveland Wild Things
the robins were the team my uncle pitched for, it's what the dodgers were called at that time.
How about the B's as in the Wannabes? Like they Wannabe champions.
If they have to go with an interim name for the season, it should be the Cleveland Major Leaugers.
And there's a lot of support locally for "Guardians" as the new name, and I would whole-heartedly support it (along with Spiders, Fellers, Perch, Wild Things, Buckeyes, and a few others)
The Braves were mentioned in the same article, but they've said they won't change their name repeatedly. They have gotten rid of the tomahawk chop and tried improving more ties with Native Americans.
But if we did change our name what could it be? Seriously, there's nothing I can think of. We've been the Braves for so long without any other moniker. The Indians like was mentioned have been called the Spiders informally at least by people for years...we don't have that.
