So its not quite Star Wars, but it *is* showing full screen at the bfi IMAX..... :D

How do people feel about a London meet to see the new Batman?

We can spend the whole evening comparing it to ROTS - it'd be great :p

edit: thread title changed at Raj_Vader's request

You're making me wish I was in London Raj!

I'm seeing it at Manchester's IMAX on Friday 17th. Of course now they're doing preview showings on Thursday I'm tempted! I can't make Manchester IMAX, but my local cinema is showing previews as well....

Right now I'm gonna wait. IMAX is digital and a massive screen. Plus I've waited this long one more day shouldn't hurt. But if I'm sat bored on Thursday night my local cinema may just tempt me....

haha - it'd be nice if I could get the film name right....! [face_blush]

In my defence, I posted at some stupid hour in the morning when I should have been revising....! OK - crap defence :p

    EDIT: Thanks Jairen :p

I'd be interested in going, but what date did you have in mind??

I will be seeing it on the 16th locally, but being a HUGE Batman fan and knowing that this film could be brilliant, I'm more then happy to see it again ;)

I was also wondering about the premiere. I haven't heared anything about it yet but Monday would be my guess to. Sorry I can't be of any more help with that.

I'm sometimes not sure about seeing a widescreen film at IMAX because it gets cropped to hell, but it is a different expereince and not one you get that often. I saw Matrix Reloaded at the BFI IMAX and that was pretty good, so this should be even better ;)

No problem. I only found that page this year. Very useful to get confirmed dates in advance. I used to take a guess when the premieres were going to be, and give the cinemas a call. But they're not always on the obvious dates - as can see from that list, sometimes some prems can be more in advance than others.

Theres nothing worse than watching breakfast news and seeing a report from a big premiere that happened the night before, but we as fans didn't even know about it. But with that page its now easy to get some advance info.

Cool - how are people for weekdays? Or would you rather it be a weekend?

Weekdays are probably better for me actually, but I could also make it during a weekend too.
Just let me know when a good date comes up and I'll see what I can do. Good luck with your final exams too!

Fantastic, well then I'd like to propose 28th, 29th or 30th June - Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

The timings for Batman Begins are: 1:45, 6:00, 9:00.

    ...let the negotiations commence :D

The film runs for 134 minutes, so if we go for the 9:00 showing, we'll all be rushing to grab the last tube at 11:34.

We could do the 6:00 showing, have a meal and leave at our leisure.....

... or the 1:45 showing, grabbing a Pizza Hut buffet before it, and then heading down to Leicester Square for ROTS after it :D ...... for comparison purposes only of course :p

If the CR is elected, we could use this meet to incorporate the new CR's inauguration.
