I think it's a bit too fast for the duel. At times it fits perfectly, but most of the time the music doesn't fit to the speed of the moves.

The PT-music always has been a bit faster, to match the speed up action of the movies. That's why I don't think including PT-music in the OT would work.

nice work, what did you use to do it? IMovie? I liked it alot. I just have one last question the end music when Luke shoots the door is that music from STARWARS? Or the escape music from ALIENS?

Anyway, it proves that with a little good StarWars music and some intelligent re-editing by GL, the whole fight can be majorly upgraded to an acceptable level.

    Nice work :)

Yep, that fight (as well as a lot of things in the OT) should be redone.

    8-} :D

I like how it brings up memories of their past. It's almost showing what they used to be and what they have now become.

    I liked it. :)

It's an interesting idea. I'm sure a lot of other fans have thought about it. I know I have. I always thought the original scene was sorely lacking music. Putting B.O.T.H. with it can give it a little more drama and a fresher appeal. There can be good things and bad things about the change, but hey, everybody has their own unique preference. I for one can respect another fan's imagination. ;)

Now if Lucasfilm fix that fight so it doesn't look pathetic with some digital work.

Why not try it with a little Duel of the Fates?

But then again, excluding Palpatine...or Dooku, old men tend to be a little slow at lightsaber combat.

Yoda is old...is he slow? No
Dooku is old...is he slow? No
The Emperor is old....is he slow? No
Qui Gon (not old, but older)....is he slow? No

And 3 out of the 4 on that list are OLDER then Ben Kenobi.

And Vader is younger then ALL those on the list.

Now you may say Vader is slow cuz he's a machine.

Grevious is a machine is he slow?.....No

So please...dont try to come up with excuses why the CHARACTERS are slow.

The actors are slow, but the characters have no reason to be slow.

Also as far as music. I would like alittle music added at the part of the movie in ANH when Vader approaches the Falcon

    Vader "I feel something....something i haven't felt since......"

Just alittle music....just something. ANH out of all the star wars movies is very lacking in music sometimes.

Very cool! A change to the OT that I could actually support without throwing up in my mouth.

I LOVE IT!! Very creative~It was amazing how a lot of the music/scenes were timed perfectly, like when Vader kills Obi!

    Great job!! *applauds*

that was amazing... music fully covered up the lack of action in that duel... people who say that the duel has to be redone have to see this video...

I was AMAZED at the Emotional Resonance of that battle with that music.

    GREAT JOB.

And I TOO, noticed, and was hoping and waiting for any potential "SaberClashes" to Sync up with the "Beats" of the Song, and to my surprise, a whole LOT of Beats synched up very well.

I did notice that you edited the music......I think....for the Latter half of the battle, and I think you re-edited the video a bit too....?....

Either way, the Video was VERY FUN to watch.....especially having RotSith, and BotHeroes so "Fresh" in my mind.

Now, when I watch that scene, if I feel like allowing myself to "Get Emotional"... i.e. Well up with emotion and liquid in my eyes, I can simply think of BotHeroes, and there, I'll be... "In the Moment".... with Anakin (Darth Vader) Skywalker, and Obi (Freaking) Wan Kenobi!!!

    THANKS.

    LATER!

    THANKS!!!!! :)

Wow great job. When I saw the thread title I said to myself "syeah, right". But that was a great edit. However, I like the moment of silence and then the Force theme when Obi-Wan looks at Luke before merging with the Force. I think that is the one part of the duel that should not be tampered with.

But You know what would really send chills down my spine : hearing the force theme during the Sidious vs Yoda duel. Now that would be something. Especially during a crucial moment, like when Yoda blocks and start deflecting Sidious' lightning back at him (the last part of the duel I think). I don't understand why Williams didn't think of that! anyway, maybe some Star wars fan will eventually do it!!!

I couldn't agree more. Great idea.

    Nice thread!

    Holy moley!

    Both clips are fantastic!

Its amazing what music can do for a scene!

Lets hope someone from lucasfilm sees those, and gets inspired for the saga edition.

Would it be too much to ask for a duel of the fates edition?

I think DOTF on the ANH duel would be. . .

    in one word . . .

    HILARIOUS!

When I hear DOTF, I think QG, OB, DM and a fast, acrobatic fight that demonstrates serious skills. Throwing the same music in the ANH is a little like putting a Model-T in the pole position at the Indianapolis 500.

I think it's safe to say we can look forward to a whole slew of fan films featuring BOTH playing during a lightsaber duel.... which of course will take place in the forest.

"Now lets try puttting some serious techno in the Grevious bridge battle. "

    Rofl, too funny

Great job Han_Solo, it really brought the two duels/movies together, it reminded me of how they were in ROTS and the emotional level of the scene got more intense.

thats what i was going to say. In my mind im picturing anakin and obiwan from rots, and then i see these two in front of me, and the pace just doesnt match.
