in the words of old ben Kenobi ~ ~"The force it's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together."~ ~ we estabilished the most basic concept in star wars the force now im not going to get into the dark side or anything like that as i think people have really covered a whole lot of its aspects what im going to ask go's into those underlining issues were basicly it seems like the whole concept of the force splits into two doctrines no longer just a generic energy field we now have both the living Force and the unifying Force both based apon the same belife however seemingly interpret the concept diffrently ill do a bit of quoteing here and there..In the book The Making of Episode I, George Lucas says, "The Force itself breaks into two sides: the living Force and a greater, cosmic Force. The living Force makes you sensitive to other living things, makes you intuitive, and allows you to read other people's minds, et cetera. But the greater Force has to do with destiny. In working with the Force, you can find your destiny and you can choose to either follow it or not." In other words, it can be said that the living Force is personal in nature, the cosmic, unifying Force more universal. The unifying Force is everything that lives in the past and future The Unifying Force is the energy that binds us together. It is what links one life to another, forming us from infinite separate life forms into the web of life that gives us the ability to interact with others on a metaphysical level. It is what binds all energy, living of not, together in the forms they are. obi-wan was a student to the unifying force as from the offical data bank and qui-gon was a avid student of the living force perhaps his views on this teaching might have seemed a bit radical and pervented him from geting his spot on council? I personally think a jedi needs to use both order to to be adaptive to all situations :)
