May I remind our esteemed and intoxicated Penguin of the long and delightful history of barley, hops & yeast. And if you all think that those mass produced ales and lagers make for good drinking, invest a little bit of cash for a well crafted and delicious taste of heaven.

 

Maybe beer does have a long history, but then so does malaria.

First time I saw this topic, I was instantly reminded of the "Beer" song... it's a somewhat traditional tune that can be heard at RennFaires and the like. I have it on one of my "Minstrels of Mayhem" CDs... a fun little ditty, that.

Those faires have a lot of songs dedicated to some form of alcohol or another, did you know that?

I particularly like Guinness. I had my first Guinness when I met Jeremy Bulloch, a really cool guy.

There a quite a few funny songs about beer: "In Heaven, There Is No Beer" by Clean Living, Brave Combo, and many others, "Free Beer" by Da Yoopers, "Save the Beer" by Faust & Lewis, "Nine Coronas" by John Mammoser, and tons more.
