Look at that batter up in that banner!
It came out so golden brown and delicious!
    I don't think I've ever seen a better batter!

Not nearly lumpy enough. Perfect batter is full of lumps. Over stirred batter mean flat pancakes.

    "Bitty Batter bought some butter
?But,? said she, ?this butter?s bitter.
If I put it in my batter,
It will make my batter bitter.?
So she bought some better butter,
And she put the better butter in the bitter batter,
And made the bitter batter better."

I particularly like 'TheForce.net's Pancake House' sign, and the 'We give excellent service' graphic.

But if you leave lumps they might get cooked into the cakes! And then it tastes like soda. :(

I try to make my batter as smooth as possible, and my pancakes are NEVER flat.

Mr. Obiwan Jr, don't you understand, if you beat your batter too much, your pancake won't rise.

Mr. Ramsay, surely as a chef you should know that a batter's performance depends more on the amount of oil and the temperature than on how much it's beaten?
