Amph Better Call Saul (Spoilers within)

Two night premiere - Feb 8 and 9.

Side note: I was talking to the parents of a sixth grader friend of my son who told her that there was a boy at school selling homemade candy out of his locker, and that this candy had become a huge fad at the middle school. The mom panicked and asked her son if he was sure it was just candy, and never to buy or swallow or taste any of it ever again. She took her son on an internet tour of all the drugs for sale on the street and of the terrible dangers of drug addiction. Her son was duly impressed and vowed never to buy any locker candy ever again. She then told her son she was going to talk to the school administration. He begged her not to.

But the next day, they found out that some other kid had ratted out the locker candy distributor, who was hauled in to the office and forced to share his candy formula. Turns out the 12 year old had been watching Breaking Bad on Netflix. He had been melting down Jolly Ranchers to try to mimic the look of blue meth and was selling the crystal chips --of melted jolly rancers-- in plastic bags for $1/bag. Had made about $500 (don't know whether gross or net) before his operation was closed down.

i was with two friends today when i saw this thread. and i was like "oh, that breaking bad spin off thing is coming soon" and they were like ".. breaking bad?" and now we're not friends anymore. just kidding, i can look past one flaw. but still.

 

If that have that flaw, they probably have many more. Jettison them now.

 

Can't wait. My friend may be in that scene where someone gets hit by a car. He said they didn't tell the extras they were filming so he was just waiting on set and suddenly a car comes and hits someone - so the extra reactions in that scene will be genuine.

 

So I guess the idea that it will be the Breaking Bad universe, but with a lighter tone and a more comedic touch? Sort of like the Hobbit? though hopefully not like that.

oh yes, the original BB thread should be used to discuss Breaking Bad. For the separate show Better Call Saul, separate thread.

Same way CW's Arrow and CW's Flash are separate threads, even though one is a spin off from the other.

 

If there was a new Star Trek show, would it get it's own thread? It probably should. So should Saul.

 

Precedent is to have a separate thread.

 

Marvel has an all encompassing thread. It also has threads for Agents of Shield, Agent Carter and Daredevil. Prececedent indeed.

But if it's decided to stay in the other thread, that's okay. I can't bring myself to care that much about something so insignificant.

 

Idiotic reason to do something. Where is the inherent virtue in precedent and tradition?

 

I don't care either way but this discussion is great filler material before the premiere.
