One thing that weirdly bothered me. When the Assistant DA marched into her office with the letters, she essentially made the considerable number of staff stop what they were doing to focus on what must be a fairly minor case among many. She had way too much power!

    And has Nacho buffed up?

Saw the title last night and was like wtf are they coming here to town or the big casino. Huell’s page was fairly amusing as it said wrongly accused all the way up in New Mexico. Most people I know would have probably said over in New Mexico. I could have been very offended by this episode. They really played up the stereotype but it was amusing.

On Germans. None of them will ever go home. Ever. How many times have they shown us how handy Mike is? They even show Mike doing cement blocks this season. The Germans are going into the wall/floor at the proper point when Mike can pour the final layer. This will also be amusing for future viewers that watch Saul 1st knowing where the bodies are in BB while Walt and Jesse unknowingly walking by/on them.

I don't know, that would be dark even for this show or BB. All of them? I don't think Kai is going to make it, and I sure hope Werner doesn't talk too much like that again, but I can't see them killing them all. Part of the appeal in hiring a crew from a foreign country is knowing how removed they are from the local scene once they finish the job and go home. They are very unlikely to say anything to anyone in Germany that would end up coming back to hurt Gus' business, unlike someone in New Mexico who talked too much.

Edit: Also, I assume they blindfolded them / had bags on their heads again when driving from and then back to the lab. So none of them would be able to describe where this lab they worked on even was.

Not gonna lie, I kind of half-expected Gus to order Mike to kill off the two men in the bar to whom the German worker drunkenly blabbed about the lab construction plans.

Maybe but I suspect that Gus ain’t gonna chance trust in blindfolds (you can still pick up patterns after month upon month that you can potentially tell the feds about) and the Atlantic to keep his secret project secret till Walt’s destruction.

    They are toast lol.

Ed: been awhile since I saw the fall out of Walt’s destruction so I don’t really remember the extent of damage. I think Hank’s main focus was on the camera so they may not have felt the need to scan for bodies at that time.

Yeah, I think so now. Kai was already an issue, and now Mike knows Werner is a chatty cathy. One or the other and only that person would pay the price. But making two disappear and not arousing suspicions among the rest seem a bridge too far, so they all have to go. Although yes, that is dark, and an especially sharp dark turn for Mike. (Although maybe Gus has it taken care of without Mike).

One of the best things about each episode is the opening scene, as the viewer is never quite sure what's going on, and this last episode was no exception. And it didn't start off like a well hatched plan, as the departure between Jimmy and Kim seemed ominous. But as the scene went along, we started getting clues on what Jimmy was up to, which was writing cards and letters to be mailed from out of state. Initially, I thought Jimmy would mail these letters from different post offices along the bus route and kind of surprised he dropped them off at the Coushatta post office because I didn't know the end game. Another great set up and payoff.

It was interesting to see Nacho assume Hector's chair at the restaurant, and then see him see with a drug seller not meeting his quota. Vicious. It also eye opening that Nacho doesn't live with his father anymore, but rather in a swanky bachelor pad. Seeing that he has an ID card for his father in his safe suggests to me that Nacho was an escape plan for him and his father in case things go south. Which the show may have set up with the new Salamanca, Lalo, arrives at the restaurant. I'm sure Gus is gonna want Nacho to get rid of him.

As for the Germans' night out, (1) I was surprised they went to a local strip club and we're let outside in the parking lot with the name of said strip club in plain view. I mean, Mike was so careful with keeping the location so secret with everyone having to land in Colorado and whatnot. It made little sense. (2) It made little sense for Mike to take Werner to that bar, let alone, leaving Werner be alone with several beers in him. Additionally, looking around the bar, I'm sure Werner could figure what town or city he was in. And when Mike confronts Werner the next day about drunk talking to two locals, Mike says something to the effect that they're in the middle of the New Mexico desert. This entire scene is not up the level of the writers writing of the previous episodes. Too many give aways of location to the German workers. If anyone's to blame for Werner, it's Mike. At this point, I don't see Mike being involved or condoning the deaths of any of the German workers, because, IIRC, most of them have families and love ones; aside from Kai. Having them missing could launch a very unwanted investigation of their last whereabouts and thus lead to New Mexico and Gus.

I like the Jimmy brought in his old film crew to answer the burner phones. The girl did a wonderful job with her improv. And the "go fund me" like donation on the church's website for Huell's defense fund was great, and definitely played a factor in the Asst DA's mind.

And I thought it was awesome when Kim walked into the Assistant DA's office with her underlings as a show of force and intimidation. Very boss move. The threatening of pretrial motion as well as civil litigation was a nice touch too. And I was happy to see the Assistant DA wasn't going to be intimated or bullied off her position. It would have been very lame if that were to happen.

In my personal experience that's not way too much power, especially for a government type of office and being surrounded by underlings. Meaning, since is a government job instead of a private law film, the staff doesn't have to generate revenue by billing clients, so all their work could be pulled towards a single case by a senior attorney. Unlike Kim's legal team, which the Asst. DA points out they're like $400/hour attorneys being pulled in on a "pro bono" case, which means loss of revenue for a private firm. Additionally, they might not have been any huge or important cases going on at the time.

I did also find it a bit lame writing that a Judge would cave to public pressure and tell the two sides to settle their differences outside of court. However, I like how Kim and Jimmy solved a problem like Huell. Anyway, good on Jimmy and Kim for getting it on in celebration of their victory. And I'm not all that surprised that Kim wanted to do it again, not the sex, but the scam that got Huell off the hook, as I poster awhile back that Kim looked really disenchanted with working with Mesa Verde and their expansion and during with building codes. Additionally, I got the sense that Kim wasn't being straight with her client when he asked if Kim could pull another rabbit out of her hat and change the building designs. Kim could have definitely worked some magic if she was motivated to do so, the Huell situation proved. Kim has proven to have a mischievous side, like the time she and Jimmy conned the "Ken Wins" guy. I just hope Kim doesn't ruin her career, because it's her integrity and straight arrow personality that draws in viewers to like her character and makes the wonderful contrast to Jimmy. And I like to think Kim's downfall, (should there be one, and pretty much everyone is expecting) is not at her own hands.

Y’all know that judge is Voyager’s Neelix right?

On Kim I’m still expecting her to rejoin HHM or I should say was till Chuck let slip they’re in trouble. Maybe she can fix things depending on how long they can last.

Hopefully she comes out career/rep intact...

So, Lalo is mentioned in Saul's introduction episode in BB season 2. When Walt and Jesse have him at gunpoint, he asks if Lalo sent them.

Nice callback, @harpua. I wouldn't have remembered that.

I will always remember Ethan Philips as Pete from the Benson TV show because that's how old I am. And it's good to see him still working.

I think Kim rejoining HHM is a safe bet considering they seem to have set that up, with Howard running the firm into the ground and that "flashforward" scene of Jimmy aka Saul giving his secretary a business card for legal representation, which most people think is Kim's card. I tend to think that Kim moves out of New Mexico and to LA or NY. She's a big time talent and needs big time cases to keep her juices flowing. I just don't know what kind of caper Kim and Jimmy could pull off next.

Godammit, @Sith_Sensei__Prime you made me look into it.

Different government entities, different levels of sucking the teet.

Per the Bernalillo County DA website, they try 25,000 cases a year, and currently have seven job openings. So I’ll guess they are pretty stretched and dedicating that many people to a minor case would be too much.

I just love Kim. What a great character!

By the way, I think that this season is slightly worse than the first three, but still enjoyable.

This season is my favorite. I gave my fair share of bashing it during S1&2 but S3 really began to turn it around for me as it brought more of BB around. I just didn’t like Jimmy but I love Saul so the closer he gets to that persona the happier I ll get.

I hated the brother. I cheered when he actually went bye bye which I didn’t think they were actually gonna do at the time.

-I don't think it'll be all too shocking now if Werner, the head of the German crew, ends up dead, rather than Kai... his transgression at the bar was worthy of Gus' attention after all, and bothered Mike more. No easy fix.

-Mesa Verde clearly is one of the worst things to have happened to Kim, even though it raised her profile as a lawyer... it's daunting, overwhelming nature has lead to her scamming with Jimmy, and rather enjoying it. The Huell-church thing worked, but will the next scam?

-I don't care how disconcerting Lalo's presence is at the restaurant, I wouldn't turn down a taco if it was offered to me. :p Nacho has as an escape plan, though, so hopefully there's a chance he's able to use it.

I won't speak for everyone, but I know I was worried for Kim leading into this episode. "She's going to get caught." "Something bad is going to happen." "That Skyler-esque looking lawyer is a super ***** and she's going to figure it out." It felt so good when it worked and Kim pushing Jimmy into the wall and kissing him was the cherry on top. So good!

But now she wants to do it again. Now I'm worried all over again!

Yeah, exactly. And Jimmy is torn too. He's been wanting to work with Kim again, but he doesn't want to drag her down with him. When she said, "let's do it again", Jimmy had this look on his face like "what have I done?".

I am expecting Kim to be fed up with Jimmy and decide reluctantly to dump him, so that eventually he will end his transformation.

    @EHT
I don't like Kim to go to the dark side. For me what is interesting in Jimmy's drama is to see that if he just tried to be a good guy he stay with an amazing person like Kim, but he's weak and he screws it up. Personally, I wouldn't know what to do with a Kim as corrupted as he is.

Kim deciding to dump him would be awfully boring storytelling. I'm sure something more interesting will happen. I mean this is a prequel to Breaking Bad... chances are, she'll Break Bad. We'll see.
