Cast wrap shooting of Season 5. can we assume these characters are all still alive and involved in the finale?

I know three of them are

 

Nacho, Gus, Saul, Kim, Lalo Salamanca, showrunner Peter Gould, Mike

 

Obviously. But I always breathe a giant sigh of relief when I see Kim still around. Nacho, too.

And LALO!!!!!

 

Nacho is so toast before this is out though.

 

...everyone watching correctly assumed.

But Kim. Kim is the one we all hope goes on.

Edit: Actually on Nacho. He’s a dead man walking walking, but it’s fair to say his death will be the result of some twisted scheme, rather than “executed for his crimes against the cartel” or losing his stomach for the life?

 

So Nacho doesn't make it to Canada to live happily ever after?

 

Season 5, the final season will consist of 10 episodes and premiere on AMC on February 23rd.

I can't find any information that this is the last season. But concerning the premiere:

AMC announced that Better Call Saul, produced by Sony Pictures Television, will return with a special two-night premiere event on February 23 and 24, 2020. The highly anticipated and explosive fifth season will premiere on Sunday, February 23 at 10:00 p.m. ET/9c following a new episode of The Walking Dead. The season will continue the next night, Monday, February 24, with an encore presentation of the season premiere at 8:00 p.m. ET/7c followed by the season's second episode at 9:00 p.m. ET/8c.

The article says the opposite of what you claimed you said it was reporting. "Although it’s not officially the final season of the show, season 5 will now hit the same number of seasons as its mothership series Breaking Bad did. As for whether more seasons are in the works after season 5, that’s still up in the air."

Regarding Nacho, isn‘t he referred to by Saul (in addition to Lalo) in hus first appearance on BrBa? That would imply that he’s still alive ag that point.

 

Yep. And if it stays a prequel and he lives, I’m happy with that.

 

The BCS Instagram announced that Season 6 is coming in 2021 … and that it will be the final season

 

Season 6 is final? I like the show, but I was hoping season 5 would be the final one. It feels too dragged out, but maybe that's just in comparison to BB.

 

I tend to agree that it's been drag out a bit but I do think it's going to be okay since Season 5 & 6 is really about Saul Goodman. The first four seasons were really about Jimmy and what made him turn into Saul Goodman. Now we get to see Saul at it's infancy and what he is like before we meet up with him in BB.

 

I don't think Jimmy's story is dragged out. Last season however I was starting to get tired of the Breaking Bad lite stuff with Mike and Gus and the Salamancas. It's not nearly as interesting as the Saul plot. We saw it before.

 

The first season moves slowly, as the showrunners were feeling around for where they wanted to go. The same was true of Breaking Bad.

 

Interesting, I didn’t think the first season of BB was slow at all. Even the first episode is pretty crazy... I feel like it hits you right out of the gate.

 

Jimmy sucks. Mike makes the show work in early seasons.
