The polling was largely correct, it was the interpretation that was the issue. There's a big difference between the data and the pundits responding to the data. This isn't exactly new, as a lot of pundits simply don't acknowledge that a very close poll (say, someone leading by 1-2%) doesn't mean that person is winning, it's more accurate to say that it's about statistically tied.

You are voting for someone that doesn't know who the president is, given that Trump's complained that Biden the private citizen has enacted the mask mandate he's advocated for.
And you are voting for someone who doesn't know what city they're in, because Trump's incorrectly addressed a rally with the wrong place.

And literally any vaguely competent government could've had COVID more under control than Trump has managed. The US has done a worse job at responding to COVID than just about any developed country. Your idea that controlling COVID would require a claim of being special is centered on the idea that America, as a country, must be so inferior to the rest of the world that the US can't do what a large number of countries around the world have been able to do, which is respond to COVID. I disagree with your anti-American mindset; there's no reason that the US couldn't have been as successful as many other countries in responding to this.

Lowie, that's a good post but I think you need to dumb it down if you want to get the message across.

What was the House MD line? "Either you're going to die in two seconds, or you suck at maths... ... ... You suck at maths."

Beyond the quip, though, low information, low education voters have the same right to vote as everyone else - and that's why a major political party fostering the numbers of both is a problem.

“No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.”
    HL Mencken

(this is usually paraphrased as "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public".)

The rules as they are now are undemocratic and allow a radical right-wing party to entrench itself in power against the will of the people. So yes, the rules should be changed.

Just got the misfortune of hearing a new ad from Trump. Huntergate, “but his laptop.”, Joe Biden is a Chinese asset, the whole works.

It would be almost funny if I didn’t know there were people that believe this garbage.

Well regrettably @Princess_Tina it's worked for him this far so might as well keep with it, miserable SOB. Interesting though how he isn't attacking Joe as much since they must seen the polls that show Biden's approval numbers have gone UP the last month. First time in modern history a candidate's approval numbers have gone up in the last month before a presidential election. Ironically, all Trump showed was Joe unlike him is willing to admit mistakes and change course when needed.

As Jim Carrey @mnjedi said as Joe Biden, Trump does not even have a plan for him. He is "Sleepy/Creepy Joe Biden" one minute and then "Master Criminal Mind Biden" the next. They truly thought the "BidenGate" stuff was going to work at the last minute even though they had over a year to make anything stick but couldn't. It's pretty crazy and scary to think they did not have Plan B but this is the administration whose Plan A for COVID-19 was a miracle.

And again Trump is mystified that Biden's numbers have actually IMPROVED over the last month.

I think so many people are going to check out that they won't face any pressure from the Democratic base.
    Trump hasn't tried.

The market can rebound, and chances are it will but the week got off to a pretty rocky start in Wall Street once the administration essentially admitted defeat in the face of coronavirus.
Still. Just as a hypothetical, wouldn't it be wildly ironic if a stock market crash turned out to be the decisive October surprise that totally doomed the bumbling incumbent?
(Please don't feel obligated to point out the ordinary American doesn't live by the stock market, only pointing out because it's clear this administration cares only about what Wall Street thinks)

Will anybody here be shocked that bob's attack here was actually a ****ing lie? Here's the quote:
“And the character of the country, in my view, is literally on the ballot. What kind of country are we going to be? Four more years of, George, uh ... George, uh ... is gonna find ourselves in a position where, if Trump gets elected, we’re gonna be in a different world.”
He was talking directly to comedian George Lopez, in response to a question he had asked.

Congratulations, starbob, you've made some blatant falsehoods in the past, but you've been caught in a lie here that was made for the most inconsequential of reasons.

I only went back to the last page to see if it was posted already. Romney said he did not vote for Trump but did not say who he voted for.

top response: "Telling by the pants probably BLM."

Republicans are so deluded they think Trump is going to win California and Democrats are trying to cheat a Biden victory here.

I hope Democrats aren't getting to0 ahead of themselves too. So much can go wrong. And even if Biden wins COVID will be the #1 issue for some time before typical political issues can be addressed. We have a few hard years ahead of us. At least with Biden we could have someone fighting to help all Americans against the pandemic.

Very clear with Trump we are on our own.

Trump winning California is about as likely as Jeb's flawless victory.

    So. 100% likely.
