If by interesting you mean timed to take the wind out of the Marvel/Disney news then yes, if you mean otherwise influenced by that news then no, because a corporate restructuring of this size takes longer than 2 weeks.

Yeah reports indicate that this deal has been in the works for a long time, before the Marvel/DC deal made the news. That doesn't mean that the timing isn't a little suspect but its not something done out of the blue to upstage the competition.

This is probably as big or bigger news than the Marvel/Disney deal but won't be nearly as talked about because it isn't as much fun to make jokes about.

Does this mean that Warner Bros will finally realize that they have a catalog of thousands of characters to make movies out of, not just two?

Well WB killed off most interest in Superman so they moved onto one new hero... that counts.... right?

    1. Batman
    2. Green Lantern

    We can only hope.

Nikki Finke is reporting that WB has been quietly "calling back" the options on DC properties like Wonder Woman and Flash. Joel Silver has had the WW option for 10 years and done nothing with it, except scare the bejeebus out of WW fans with his ideas.
