I'm happy to announce that our twinning with the New York Chapter - the 'Mos Eisley Port Authority', has been approved!

Following on from the poll conducted a month or so ago (or maybe longer!), I approached citizen_john, the CR of the NY chapter to ask him if they'd be interested in twinning with us. I'll leave you to figure out what he said :p

London and New York have much in common, connecting us on many levels. We're both ridiculously expensive, both have a oligarchical network of taxi drivers hellbent on ripping us off, we're both loathed and envied by the rest of the world (hello world O:) :D), and let's not be modest here - we *are* the two best cities in the world! :p Both cities have also faced adversity and terror and come out the other side stronger and more united than before.

So, welcome to our NYC brothers and sisters - we look forward to briding that puddle of water between us!

We have been twinned with a mighty city, and a mighty FanForce
I welcome our American cousins from across the pond and thank them for agreeing to this partnership
    May they visit us often

    I'm sure they'll regret it :p

Yes - I just noticed that myself. NYC was previously twinned with the 'Inland Empire', but they are now defunct. Rest assured we are twinned! I'm guessing the admin guys are still in the process of updating the MEPA chapter page.

    Hi London :)

Yes we were twinned with the Inland Empire but as Raj said they have gone defunct. I am glad to twinned with a great city like London. As Raj siad we do have a lot in common, esp. the cab drivers LOL.

Happy New Years to you All :)

    John

    Thanks John

Lets hope FFLondon & FFNYC have a long and successful relationship together [face_peace]

After all, your fellow Americans from Philly have worked well with the Midlands, so I'm sure our two FanForces could co-exist successfully

Drop by whenever you want, anyone is always welcome

Cool, sounds fun. London and New York City. :D

What exactly does this being 'twinned' mean?

Twinning basically means we're entitled to half of all the monies collected by the New York chapter.............[face_mischief]

......or more accurately, its a way of promoting communication and fostering friendships with other chapters from across the world :)

    Greetings New York City!! :D

Thank you to Raj and citizenjohn for bringing this twinning together and I'm sure it will serve us both well.

I have been to New York City a few years ago and it's a great place and I hope to go again in the future. We also went to Celebration III via New York and got to see the Manhattan skyline from Newark airport, which was great for me and my friends because it's so iconic :D

Happy New Year to everyone too!!

Good, I like that Raj_Vader. Great way to look at it.
It is fun to talk to people from the other side of the world. :)

I actually haven't ever been to New York City. It's about an 7 hour
drive for me. Though I know thats not a good excuse. :p

    And Happy New Years England!

When I was in London 2 months ago, this one tour guide kept making American jokes, at first a bit funny, but then got annoying.

I cannot blame yah for making fun of us. When I was watching UK TV, I saw wayyy too much American news. I saw more Bush than Blair.

Parts of London reminded me of NYC without the Skyscrapers. I think it was that I saw tons of shopping and loads of people.

I cannot believe that London was decorated for Christmas BEFORE Halloween. :)

It was a great trip. :)

Good to see you guys got NYC! Don't worry, John and the crew will take care of you - but if you hear anything about me, it's not true! They're habitual liars! [face_mischief] :p

Then again, if it's a good story, then, of course it's all true! ;)
