Hello, I?m an occasional lurker who likes collecting Star Wars miniatures. With plenty of extra minis I have (common and uncommon), I like to repaint/customize them into other Star Wars characters, and sometimes folks from Marvel Comics (mostly X-Men). Here be some for ye all to see. :)

AT-PT Driver (based on their helmet in the game Star Wars: Force Commander.

    Telos Security Guard from KOTOR2

Tekli of the NJO novel series

Gar Stazi of Star Wars: Legacy

Sev?rance Tann from the Clone Campaigns of SW: Galactic Battlegrounds.

Jor Drakas, also from Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaigns

Corran Horn?s X-Wing, based on the X-Wing comic series (Family Ties)

Plus here are some that I?ve already shown in the EUC forum, the majority of them are Yuuzhan Vong.

    Nas Choka

    Prefect Da?Gara

A Chazrach Warrior, based on descriptions in the NJO novels and sourcebook. Hopefully the upcoming Invasion series will clarify this, preferably to what I?ve got done. :D

A Yuuzhan Vong Priestess who, from last week, I?ve decided to give a name: Zeyl Yeen

    Another from the Legacy comics:
    Marasiah Fel, Imperial Knight

Later on, I?ll post some more pics of my redone minis. Maybe some Marvel ones as well. :)

This is the most brilliant act of ´recyling´ that I have ever seen. Brilliant work. Love those!

    Please show more!

Awesome! =D= I've always wanted my favorite EU characters as action figures, but I couldn't do what you do.
I'd like to see more! :D

Glad ye's all like my work so far. :) I appreciated the comments, and Sia is also one of my favorites, both the custom and the character herself. Now here are more redone minis. Just a note that while toothpicks may not be the ideal substitute for lightsaber blades, they're better than nothing.

Kith Kark from the Freedon Nadd Uprising

A Novatrooper, based on a picture I saw years ago about SW: Galaxies

Darnada, from the comic book mini-series starring Darth Maul

R5-M2, based on its very brief appearance in ESB

Darth Maleval of Star Wars: Legacy

Here?s a couple of Sith I made up, also from Darth Krayt?s Sith Order.

    Darth Mailoc

    Darth Riborn

Now here be some Marvel (X-Men) characters that I?ve done from spare Star Wars minis:

    Cable

    Domino

    Siena Blaze, Upstart

    Abyss, Horseman of Apocalypse

I intend to bring up more later this week.

And you do X-men mods too! :D *insert immense squee of joy here* ahem, [face_blush]
These are really fantastic, of course I am biased into liking the Yuuzhie customs, but I also really like your rendition of Sev'rance Taan too. Keep up the great work!

Man, my mouth is hanging open: those figures must've taken many hours to paint and decorate as you've done--so much fine detailing! How cool! I'm with Blue: the Yuuzhan Vong are particularly great, but the Sith from Legacy are also extremely cool! Very nice work!

Thank you all again for the wonderful words. [face_blush] This is my main hobby, and I?m glad you folks like it. :)

Well, I try to use the acrylic paints that best match the colors of the characters in the books/games/etc. For extra parts like lightsaber blades and uniform additions, I tend to use spare pieces of hard plastic and the previously mentioned toothpicks. Sometimes I find pieces from unused model sets to be a gold mine of sorts.

When cutting off certain parts from the minis, I usually save those tiny pieces for later. No matter how insignificant they look they have an uncanny knack for being handy in later works. I?ve done this a lot of times with blasters, taking them off one mini and glue them to another. I also found that globs of paint dried overnight also make good additional pieces. That?s what I used as hair for Nas Choka and Marasiah Fel.

When it comes to painting the little guys, lots of light makes for great help, if not the best.

Here are more remade miniatures of mine, some more modest than others:

    Star Wars:

    Darth Ruyn of Legacy

Windo ?Warble? Nend from Last Stand at Jabiim

D-60 Assault Droid from Timothy Zahn?s Hero of Cartao

A repainted Twi?lek bodyguard. Based on the Twin Suns from KOTOR2, but with different color tones.

    Marvel:

    Mikhail Rasputin, Colossus?s brother

    Toad

    Bastion, from Operation: Zero Tolerance

    Ghost Rider 2099

    Again, more to come later.

Lovely miniatures and great details. They are coming to life as you see them when reading the books.

Once again I have trouble to pick a favourite here. [face_blush]

They are all great. What I love is the spirit in them, the energy.

Wonderful custom figures! I'm curious: do you begin with stock figures, then customize, or do you fashion your own new figures with stock figures as references...? The poses are wonderful (the Twi'lek bodyguard in particular is great!), very dynamic and filled with energy. How big are these (inches or cm, whichever you normally use)? They appear very small--which makes me respect your dedication and care even more! Great stuff!

Again, I?m glad you folks enjoy my work. :)

I just use the extra minis I get from booster packs and what other individual ones available from shops. From there, I repaint and add/remove certain features. For the most part I keep them in the same pose they originally have. The usual height for these minis is about an inch and a half, give or take a few centimeters.

An inch and a half !... that would drive me insane :p
It's awesome what you do ^___^ I have no patience to do something so fiddly. I'm so glad you did a Rogue, I love her [face_love] It must be so fun to play with all these *is envious*

Perhaps you could do a Wolverine ? [face_batting]

Wolverine? I never did one of him before, but I could give it a shot. :) Finding a suitable mini shouldn?t be a problem in this case. Just got to make sure I have the type or can get one.

Well I've found a suitable figurine to recreate as Wolverine, but the problem is that I don't have it. Though I know a place that has at least one type of that particular mini, it will take a while to get it as the shop is on the other side of the province.

But in the meantime, here's some more remade Star Wars and Marvel minis:

    Star Wars:

    Darth Wyyrlok III

Tili Qua of Legacy?s Jedi Council

Treetower, the Ugnaught Jedi from the Clone Wars Adventures series

A repainted Trandoshan Mercenary that I named Crossk.

    Marvel:

    Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat)

Apollyon from the X-Men story Here Comes Tomorrow

Dummy, from the X-Men?s special class

    Gauntlet of the Dark Riders

Thank you very much, Azure. There?s still no word on the mini that I?m hoping to get so I could redo it into Wolverine. I can keep trying to get ahold of it, but I?ll also look if there's one on hand that I can use instead. Anyway, here?s a few remade minis of mine that I recently showed at the EUC.

    Azlyn Rae

Deliah Blue (this one was made from a Dungeons & Dragons mini)

And with one of the two spare Jedi Starfighters that I have, I altered it to resemble the Yuuzhan Vong starfighter, the Yorik-Et, better known as the Coralskipper.

    Coralskipper (front, back and sides)

    Coralskipper (top and bottom)

Here?s what I did to the other one:

Plo Koon?s Starfighter (front, back and sides)

Your Deliah Blue is delicous... for a figure that was once from DUNGEONS & DRAGONS.

*always has to smile when she finds her husbands old childhood games with maps from that very game*
