Typically, when a poster like this drops, a teaser trailer soon follows. Which seems about right with Spider-Man: Homecoming being less than a month away, where a Black Panther teaser would be attached to the film. However, I would have guessed any Black Panther footage would have been saved for next month at either D-23 or SDCC.
It'll be the first MCU film to not have any trailers whatsoever in this new experimental marketing technique that will make Rylo Ken weep with joy.
I would not be suprised if footage from Infinity Gauntlet is the big one at D-23. At the one a couple of years ago, There was footage from Captain America: Civil War.
Like the how the exaggerated claw design of the throne ties in with T'Challa. I bet it'll break records for a February release.
Teaser trailer looks awesome except the car flip scene at the end was a bit CGI heavy but still incredible. I wonder if any internet nerds/geeks out there are working on translating the Wakandan words, or whatever, on that throne pic? Probably, knowing how some people have way too much free time on their hands.
Eesh. I need to see more, no idea what the hell is going on. Props to Michael B Jordan's hair stylist for fitting in time for BP after making all of those Inhumans costumes. Seriously, Marvel. You've got like 500 billion dollars. Clean it up.
Black Panther looks pretty awesome! And I know nothing about his character besides what I saw of him in Civil War..
Alternate thread title: "Wakanda movie is this anyways?" Trailer looks really good (except for the CGI shot Hydra pointed out). I've been looking forward to this one the most of the most-Civil War/pre-Infinity titles. I really like how the first half of the trailer will play like a non-Marvel trailer to general audiences (as they're unlikely to recognize Klaw and Bil- holy crap, I just realized that that scene is Gollum and Biblo!), so the Black Panther reveal in the trees should get a nice reaction in theaters.
George Bush (heels) hates black people! Panther. Hand. Guns. Also, and I have no idea (and I'd love someone who does to comment), I don't know if that hairstyle MBJ is sporting is a traditional one of any sort -- there were a lot of other overt references to existing African cultures in the rest of the teaser. But yes, the CGI is spotty. Who the hell cares since the movie's 8 months away and there's almost certainly not many finished shots, plus we saw how awesome Black Panther chase sequences can be in Civil War already...
I really hope we are not subjected to some long, stupid onslaught of ads suggesting that real concerned about racial equality is measured by paying for a ticket to some stupid action blockbuster. The experience with Wonder Woman is not at all encouraging.
Almost certainlycoming to a toy store near you. What can we say? Dude loves to ride on cars. I'm not concerned about the final film's CGI- the BP CGI was near flawless in CW (didn't they only later reveal that the costume was almost entirely CG?), it's just a shame that the money shot of the trailer is not up to normal standards, as it affects the overall impact of the trailer by itself (though not fatally so).
Like another said, the cgi jump was horrible. I mean really, why do they do that crap in slow motion like it's awesome? Otherwise it looked cool. And sounded cool too.
