Really enjoyed this movie. I get why it wasn't a box office hit, but it was really good.

Talk about an enduring cultural impact. His visual concepts still influence entire genres across multiple mediums 30 years later.

I forget sometimes just how much influence his designs has (and they're all awesome). From Blade Runner and Tron to even things like Turn A Gundam. Rest in peace.

It involves two things I love
    • Blade Runner
    • Denis Villeneuve
It was a little too long but it was a sequel fans deserved.

Maybe we just weren't vocal enough in our love for the original?

    Stories behind some props

Deckard is now hiding out in a collapsed dystopian Las Vegas, living alone with his dog in a deserted casino. In the sculpture garden of this abandoned orange landscape we find several dust-covered, dilapidated gargantuan nude sculptures which are frozen in sexual poses.

Described by Gassner as “Romanesque gods of sex”, I interpreted this scene as a fallen land where sex, capitalism and disregard for our precious planet – where man’s need for selfish satiation no matter what the costs – has all come crashing down.

I liked some of his ideas and the visuals, but ultimately preferred the short movies leading up to this. Still watch the Nexus Dawn one every so often.

Still, no complaints if Denis does another one. He's got a fabulous visual eye.

The weakest part of 2049 was the effort to connect it to the original and Deckard. Villeneuve making an unrelated future noir in the same universe would be absolutely ideal.

The only Blade Runner game ever made- the 1997 adventure game, is being remastered.

After it recently became available to purchase again following years of legal and technical turmoil, the 1997 Blade Runner PC adventure game is about to be remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Nightdive Studios, the developer behind the recent System Shock and Turok remasters, revealed the Enhanced Edition's existence in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. What's more, you'll be able to play it later this year.

The studio is calling the remaster a "polished and premium restoration." They say it will feature updated models, animations and cutscenes. Moreover, it will support widescreen resolutions, and you'll be able to tweak the controls to your liking.

"We painstakingly reverse-engineered the code, importing it into our own KEX engine, a powerful tool that allows us to do console ports of classic titles, even in the face of quite challenging situations," Larry Kuperman, the head of business development at Nightdive, told The Hollywood Reporter.

In Blade Runner, you play as detective Ray McCoy, who, like movie protagonist Rick Deckard, is tasked with hunting down replicants. When it was initially released, critics and fans praised the game for its art direction and graphics, which is something Nightdive CEO Stephen Kick says the studio wants to preserve. "While you can enjoy the benefits of playing the game on modern hardware, the game should look and feel not as it was, but as glorious as you remember it being." Here's hoping that turns out to be the case.

Behind, again. This very association is a memory implant at work. You need to have green eyes for a moment, in order to see it. Or, rather, a single green eye. That of the mind.
