Book: Han Solo Trilogy: Book One - The Paradise Snare by A.C. Crispin

Date and Time: Saturday, May 19th @ 11a.m.

    Meeting Place: Beatties Ford Library

. . . this first book in the "Han Solo Trilogy" tells the story of the smuggler/pilot's childhood and teen years. Abandoned, then taken in by a Fagin-like thief/space pirate, and finally raised by an old female Wookiee, Han escapes into his first piloting job, where he falls in love for the first time and saves his girlfriend from enslavement. Crispin deftly weaves Han's early years into the Star Wars storyline and provides details that shape his personality.

As we have discussed in the Book Club planning thread the period before the book club meets is a "no spoiler" rule meaning if you post spoilers they must be Highlight-To-Read. Example: This is highlight to read. After the meeting spoilers can be posted without the markup codes.

We will probably meet for an hour to an hour and half.

Everyone is welcome but please post that you will be attending so that we know how many seats to set up.

Questions? Ask. If it is a more general book club question, please ask it in the Book Club planning thread

Also, we have our books for the rest of the year picked out:

May - Han Solo Trilogy Book One - The Paradise Snare
June - Han Solo Trilogy Book Two - The Hutt Gambit
July - Han Solo Trilogy Book Three - Rebel Dawn
August - Star Wars: An New Hope
    September - Empire Strikes Back
October - Shadows of the Empire
November - Return of the Jedi

We will break in December for the annual Christmas party. :)

    Previous Book Club threads:

Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter by Micheal Reaves
Darth Bane: Pathway to Destruction by Drew Karpyshyn
Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader by James Lucerno
Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover
    Labyrinth of Evil discussion

Also, just so folks are aware we do use the Book Club as our monthly meeting time so we take care of any club business then.

Unfortunately TK-2970 and I were the only ones at the book club meeting today. :( I'm hoping that everyone's schedules are worked out for next month. One thought I'm having is perhaps we want to meet at 12 noon instead of 11am?

Let me know what you think. :)

Hopefully my schedule might be changing if I get this new job I interviewed for on Friday. Then we could have the meeting a little later in the day since I would have Saturdays off... [face_praying]
