Brandon Flyte VS Ryan Wieber --Discussion Thread--

Hey everyone.

As I posted in my previous thread, Thrice3 and I are working together to complete the visual effects and additional audio for this LCC III Entry. We know many TFN members want to see this duel with the digital effects, so we went right into the project, with permission from the creators of course.

As I said earlier there is no due date yet. Below are a few screenshots of what we have been doing. Feel free to comment or ask us any questions if you are interested. Thanks for checking it out.

My, uh, placement on the name titles would've been a bit different.

I'm a bit of a traditionalist too, so I may have had them be a bit more similar to the ones you'll find in RvD.
That's just me though. I didn't expand them, but I imagine they'd be hard to read if I didn't already know what they said.

Is Flyte's saber going to be yellow?
I dunno about that.. but it's your call.

I'm pretty sure they intended for them to both use blue, though I don't recall either of them actually saying this, they did model their facial hair/hair cuts after Ep3 era Obi-Anakin so it only makes sense.

 

This seems to be coming along pretty well - I'm looking forward to seeing the final.

 

Looks good, but Ryan sort of looks like a 70's porno star with that mustache.

I put together the intro, and I was trying to go like RVD but not so much, you have to see it in motion, it looks better than a screen, obviously. lol

The saber in that frame appears to change thickness when it passes by Brandon.

 

It's probably fanning a little bit.

 

But it gets thicker just all the sudden. It probabaly has to do with their transet-mode.

Yeah, I see what you mean.
I don't agree with ADD sabers for that reason, among others.
Sometimes they work, sometimes not.

I think it's the blue on blue after Brandon's saber is destroyed, and he takes one of Ryan's.

But anyway, I can't wait to see this. Since I saw the LCC3 entry, I've been eagerly awaiting a rotoscoped version.

We were gonna have me use a green saber and then one of Ryan's blue sabers. The hair thing is also pretty wrong. I was just growing my hair out for a while (click the photo in my profile for even more Anakin hair action) and Ryan was growing his hair out a little too. We both caught that it turned out pretty Obi/Ani-ish, but it wasn't really intentional.
