TK432, what kind of Vader bucket did you score?

Is it a DP CA, or a custom fiberglass jobby?

I hit Hancock's and Hobby Lobby last night. All I found was linen. It was the right color and had a nice looking weave, but it was way too thin. You'd need 4-6 layers of the stuff to keep everyone from seeing your Tusken undies.

X-Wing supply run came out empty, but I DID manage to find some really nice Russian linen that's got a nice weave and weight to it for Tuskens.

$12.99/yard, though. Ouch. After this whole X-Wing thing and the shirts blow over, I'm gonna go back and get a bunch, though.

It's at Hobby Lobby in the home decorator fabrics. I'd assume every store would keep similar stock, but ya never know.

Don't buy anything until we get some of the specs, such as how much per person would this cost. I'm also going to Joann's today to see what I find, we have two huge stores up here & no they do not carry all the same materials??

Do we have any idea what the female raider out fit is made out of?

Same material. I've seen the faceplates made from cast latex, resin, and vac-formed plastic.

Just need some tinted plexiglass for the visor.

There's also a cute liitle indian girl leather purse, but I'm sure a few of us could make them...

Or SS might have a couple in his collection that would work. [face_devil]

Well, as it turns out, one of my co-workers is actually half-Hawaiian, and she's going back to Hawaii for 3 weeks. I asked if she knew what a totokia was...showed her a picture...

She said she'd see if she could bring me a couple back...

But knowing me, she got a bewildered look on her face after my face lit up, and she asked why I wanted them...

    And then she said, "NO."

    LOL.

That's W-Josh's "Godzilla" helmet. One of the Tuskens at the museum had one. They're really sweet...but at $200/each they're a wee bit painful...especially if we're doing 10 at the same time.

Rachel and Jennay hit the fabric store last night and got some fabric to start testing out Tusken patterns. I might have to start chopping things up this weekend. LOL.

Oh, and I'm borrowing Becca's gaffi that she got from one of 501st Tuskens so I can figure out a few things on making gaffis. :D

Alrightie...played with the Tusken robe pattern from http://www.studiocreations.com last night, and it'll work out great. :D I didn't get anything sewn, but the pattern will work.

There's a pretty high, wrapped collar that goes around the neck, but rather than building into the tunic, keeping it as a separate piece with a velcro attachment might be better, to hide the bottom flaps of the Tusken helmet.

Maybe I'll stop by Joann's tonight and see if they have the right kind of fabric for Tuskens since we have a 40% off coupon. :D

Also, the plastic tubing method of making the metal pieces for Tuskens might actually work if done well.

*wonders if Jeff has played any with the Tusken bitz* :D

Yep. He used a blanket similar to what a couple Tusken robes were made from, but I want something lighter. That blanket was heavy, and extremely warm. He used the standard British and Swedish (the one that was making me all hot and steamy) bandoliers, too. The metal face piece he used came from someone in outside the country that machined them...and...I'm a bit worried on the cost. But now that I think about it, I should send him a PM and get the guy's e-mail addy and see if they're still made.
