It's simple: that blinking light at the end was powering Cad Bane's plot armor!

    :p

If pain isn’t confirmed dead within a few days by someone on crew he’s alive

If he’s dead, feels like a real waste of the character. Yes his fate was to get offed by Boba eventually, but make it a recurring rivalry, especially since he didn’t have that much live action screentime. So much you can do with all that history in terms of character writing and plot.

Plus Boba killing him clashes with the major theme of the show, and proves Cad right.

I do think the blinking red light means his alive - that spear did not go through his chest and the mods were literally shown repairing a similar wound to Fennec in this show.

Although I will admit that ever since Darth Maul was brought back, I have to really be hit over the head to be convinced anyone is dead in Star Wars.

Cad Bane is over 70 years old, and we know so little about his adventures during the OT. I think we have plenty of time to explore him as a character in series like The Bad Batch or a young Boba Fett story. Honestly, what else could he provide in the post-ROTJ if not the final obstacle to Boba's path of reform? Cad Bane never changes. He's the same ruthless bounty hunter as he was in the past. A dark reflection of Boba's career. If he doesn't change and is pushing to advanced old age, better go out in a blaze of glory that die of old age in a retirement home.

That red light just means he’s low on battery.

Someone stick a couple of Duroscell in him and he’ll be right as rain for next season

In a sense, there's some room that it could one in the same.

There is that possibility that young Boba could appear in episodes of the BB. Maybe that would be where an established grudge between the two is established.

It's sad to see him go, but I think Cad Bane has fulfilled his usefulness and Dave certainly brought his story to its proper conclusion.

Like everyone else is saying, Bane absolutely should've been introduced instead of the Hutts and been the main villain for the series. His stuff in the finale was good, and his dialogue towards Boba hinted at what could've been a compelling story exploring how Boba has changed since he was young and why he's softened. We could've gotten that story over the entire season through those two characters' interactions instead of confining it to one scene. It's so utterly obvious that I can't help but wonder if Disney is mandating stuff like Bane's reveal to be calculatingly-timed surprises rather than integrated in the story in an organic way

It's far too soon for them to start talking about the episodes officially; it's usually the following Monday where the official channels stop treating them as spoiler danger zones (that's when things like character posters get released, or in the case of shows like TCW and TBB concept art and trivia galleries get uploaded).

If we haven't heard anything official about Bane's fate by this time next week, however...

Just got to say, I loved Fett's "I'm not a little boy anymore" line to Bane.

Thinking about Bane's live-action appearance, it seems like The Bad Batch was actually setting up for it: the smaller hat, low-pitch menace ("By hook or by crook..."), maybe eve showing the metal plate.

Speaking of which, could the Bad Batch tag be added to this thread?

Pain was canonically killed by Naruto after he killed Jiraya.

Look, I don't care what you read on fanfiction.net.

Naruto went downhill after the Pain arc (though it was kinda trending that way already); bringing back Pain as a villain won't change that!

Yeesh, mentioning an anime character out of the blue in a Star Wars forum; I mean, it's not going to make Naruto any less trash. Watch your My Hero Academia and accept that it too may one day go downhill and become nothing but trash.

    Thread Tax:

Oh, err, about that Star Wars show... Err, Boba Fett's Diary, right?

I kinda wish that Bane would come back, to be honest, but how the hell do you just up and say: "haha in , he's back, everyone, joke's on you!"

(Get it? Because death in Star Wars is a joke now. :D)

As more and more days go by the more I am sure Bane isn’t dead. Which is a shame, but it is what it is.
