ST CAST ANNOUNCEMENT FOR EPISODE IX

Very excited about this cast. Billy Dee Williams finally returning, Mark Hamill playing Luke in hopefully a powerful and important role, all the returning cast members. Was very surprised about them using footage of Carrie Fisher for Leia and I hope it works out well. It will be interesting to see who the new cast members are playing and how they can close out the trilogy in a satisfactory way for Rey, Finn, Kylo, etc.

 

What they didn't tell us is that Mark Hammill will be coming back to play the role of that alien he played on Canto Bight.

 

Really wish Maz was not in this and DJ was. At least DJ had some character instead of being purely an exposition device. She added absolutely nothing to TLJ and can’t see what she’d contribute to IX.

 

I'm surprised he's not. I felt like his intentions were left open and he might make up for what he did in TLJ and help Finn in IX or something like that.

 

DJ vs Lando would have been interesting.

 

Yeah I wouldn’t want him atoning for anything because that’s not what his world view is. Oh well there’s always a possible small cameo/mention or future material.

 

I'm sure Mark, at one point, will troll everyone with that joke

 

More than anything I really want these new characters to have meaningful roles. I understand that the cast is already so big that they won't be able to give the newbies a ton of screen time but for the love of God JJ don't Lor San Tekka and Phasma us all over again. Just don't.

 

I kinda liked the idea of LST just being some force mystic and Phasma as this Kenny like character that is basically a cockroach - always coming back from the dead.

 

Words cannot explain how stoked I am that Patrick Stewart is returning to the franchise!!! Booya!!!

 

Patrick back in the pilot seat of the Falcon.

Was DJ even a character or was he Just a mouthpiece for heavy-handed moral relativity that no 9-year old wants to hear in Star Wars ?

They should have went the red plom Bloom guy, he looked more fun.

 

DJ was part of Finn's story. He and Rose gave Finn a choice and Finn chose Rose. DJ was all about running away, doing what was best for himself. Rose was about fighting for the ones they love.

Yeah, i know what you mean. Fair enough.

But i still think i would have found it confusing as a kid, especially as DJ gets away with his skullduggery a rich man with no hope now of us seeing him get his comeuppance in the next movie.

He's pretty iredeemable, all those rebels he knowingly condemned to death. What a scumbag he was really.
