It's not a buried announcement, you're just filtering poor copywriting through a perennial lens of confirmation bias.

You probably know this already, but she has left her permanent position in Lucasfilm several years ago and moved to a PR company. She still hosted Celebrations, but it seems that for this one there were some scheduling conflitcs:

So what “Star Wars” movie could slot into that open December 2025 release date? Sources say “Thor: Love and Thunder” filmmaker Taika Waititi continues to work on his possible “Star Wars” feature, and he would most likely have a part in it as well, similar in prominence to his standout role as an imaginary Adolf Hitler in his Oscar-winning 2019 feature “Jojo Rabbit.” And although Lucasfilm has yet to officially confirm it, sources say the studio is committed to a “Star Wars” movie from director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, a two-time Oscar-winning documentarian (“Saving Face,” “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”), who made her live-action narrative debut with two episodes of 2022’s “Ms. Marvel” for Disney+. Damon Lindelof (“Watchmen”) and Justin Britt-Gibson (“Counterpart”) were attached in October to write the script for that movie.

Whether one of those films, or some as-yet-unannounced project, lands at the front of the line has been a fiercely guarded secret at Lucasfilm, but sources say the studio will begin to unveil its plans for the future of “Star Wars” cinema at the Star Wars Celebration convention in London the weekend of April 7.

I admit don't really want to see a Waititi SW movie. So fi that gets shelved too besides Rogue Squadron and Feige, I'm fine with that.

This is earlier in the above article. Doesn't sound promising to the Lindelof rumors but we'll see.

"So, for now, Lucasfilm’s message to “Star Wars” movie fans: Patience, you must have."

We've had "patience" for years. A plan, YOU must have.

Or 2025 is another place holder and no SW film coming in then either.

The article literally says the plan is start unveiling the film slate at Celebration. Just like THR said earlier. This article really doesn’t say anything that we didn’t already know.

well it does shrink the pool of options for what will be announced.

one doesn't need the trades to guess that they were always gonna announce the next movie(s) at Celebration.

No it doesn’t. We already knew that neither Feige’s film nor Rogue Squadron were going to be announced. We already knew it was going to Damon Lindelof’s film. This article doesn’t say anything new.

we did? I honestly didn't. Most of missed it completly as last updates I recall was neither was shelved.
but who says they were only gonna announce 1 movie anyways?

I know that the Lindelof movie is one mentioned for 2025 by reports but even that doesn't seem to be a given.

Yes, we knew. I can’t help it if you didn’t. Kevin Feige himself said quite a while ago that he wasn’t working on a Star Wars film and with Michael Waldron writing Avengers: Secret Wars he clearly wasn’t going to be writing a Star Wars film anytime soon. With Rogue Squadron as the article says Jenkins said while she was still working on it she didn’t know if it would be greenlit. It’s been very clear for a while now that Lindelof’s film has the most momentum behind it and is the most likely to be announced at Celebration. Whether they announce anything else that we haven’t heard about is anyone’s guess.

Damon Lindelof's SW movie will actually be a documentary about Feige's and Jenkins' movies, and how they ultimately got cancelled.

Let's hope it's Episode X: Return Of The Plan. Or even Episode X: A New Plan.
