Assuming I heard the name correctly... Aruk appears to be one of the leaders of the five [main?] Hutt clans.

Finally, a really good namedrop.

You think TCW will step down and say "that's Gardulla the younger"? After what they did to Greedo and other characters, you can't really say that.

No need to go on the offensive. I'm just hoping, that's all.

Regarding 'Evil Plans', I was actually rather pleasantly-surprised by the usage of Aruk here. I believe he was the one smoking the stogie, right? Well, one thing I always remember about Aruk in the Han Solo Trilogy was that he was 'a little to fond' of his hookah, so this seemed remarkably in-character to me.

Aruk always DID have a weakness for inhaled substances. ;)

    I'm just saying. :p
Never trust TCW with previously established canon.

The crew is actually really good at those kinds of obscure references.

It is just that half the time GL or a technical problem forces them to change it...or it goes unnoticed. For some reason, people notice the flaws more than they do the good nuggets.

I wish they'd use a different model for Gardulla. Her voice does not match the body at all. Even the mouth movements were off in that clip.

^ I did think it odd... especially after binging on Bounty hunter cutscenes the previous day ( a strange coincidence) and I thought that voice was better. Interesting bit from the episode guide:

So much for Hostage Crisis being the first time Palps noticed Bane.

So, according to the guide, it's Arok the Hutt, not Aruk the Hutt.

    [golf-clap]

Way to go, TCW. Only you could fail at the finish line so spectacularly.

EDIT: But on the plus side--maybe--one of the Hutts is Gorga. Hopefully the middle guy here, since he's the only one who really looks like Gorga...

    Wait, Senator Aang?

Considering the show Filoni worked on before this....[face_laugh]

Why did he go with the movie pronouncetion though?

I am going to regard that as a spelling mistake in the episode guide until given reason to think otherwise.

RE: Gardulla: Wasn't she killed by being fed to a Krayt Dragon? If so, it wouldn't be the first time a giant Tatooinian organism coughed up a Hutt after finding it indigestible . . .

I request a furry Hutt looking like a giant tribble... either that or a Hutt being shaved by Twilek slaves.

We already knew that Palps knew of Cad Bane before then, since he hires Bane in Breakout Squad, which takes place right after the Malevolence trilogy.

Ugh... I was afraid of that when I watched the episode. It really is Corleone the Hutt...

Now it's just a matter of tying up this Senate/Ziro arc with the Ryloth quadrilogy, being as that features Bane heavily and refers to the Nute Gunray trilogy quite heavily, with the Malevolence trilogy... in short we have chunks of continuity forming, slowly but surely...

It's just so damn strange that they didn't even address TODO's return in the episode and left it to the episode guide. I mean, unless there's an upcoming episode telling that story, why make it such an elaborate backstory that stretches credulity? Plus there isn't even anything about Aurra's escape from custody.

So, if one is watching the TV series by itself, this becomes a very disjointed series of episodes. You'll last have seen TODO blown to bits and Aurra in jail at the temple, only for TODO to be back without mention the very next episode and Aurra free and working with Bane in the next.

EDIT- Ok, here's my revised timeline, which factors in the new placement of the Holocron Arc in relation to the Ziro arc.

It was also pointed out to me that Palpatine is giving the same speech in Lightsaber Lost that he is in the Zillo Duology, so I've moved them closer to reflect that detail reminder (I put it after Lightsaber Lost, since we don't see any Zillo damage on Coruscant during it, and Ahsoka's absence is now explained by LL & GI) without moving it past the Boba Fett Trilgoy due to Ponds.

I gotta say, it doesn't really surprise me...I'd just assume that there is another episode in this plotline forthcoming. We may not get to see it until Season 6, but I'm sure it's planned. :p I'd assume TODO will be rebuilt by Anakin as mentioned, and he will be the one who frees Aurra.

About Gardulla...I hope they'll use this opportunity to clear up the confusion surrounding her death/survival/offspring of the same name...IIRC, Secrets of Tatooine had her being hauled off to prison thanks to Jabba's machinations, while both Tatooine Ghost and the Galactic Phrasebook and Travel Guide had her meeting with Jabba and opening hotels after she should have been dead.

    re: Gardulla
Yeah, to be fair, whether Gardulla lived past or died in 32 BBY is already a mess in the EU, and was so before the series started; I live the idea of her being "spit out" as a retcon ala Zorba!
[p.s. was it confirmed one of the Hutts WAS Gardulla?)

two new sentient species in this Episode...one named by EpG, the other...not. Sigh...maybe Jason will save the day? And the shopkeeper droid again appears (as far as I know, the only droid model in the whole series who doesn't have a Wookieepedia article--despite appearing in 3 episodes and in the Clone Wars Adv. game online--some trivia for you).

re: Arok...oh please please make it be Aruk that would be so preferable...

It's like how only the webcomic explains how Obi-Wan and Anakin went from being just fine at the end of "Dooku Captured" to being imprisoned in "The Gungan General".

I like this episode because I love seeing more of Coruscant and the characters but I think that the story was too slow.
Seeing R2 in the droid spa was hilarious but weird. What's next, a Hutt spa?[face_laugh]

It's strange that nobody has mentioned this yet but that Khramboan character Droogan seems to be inspired by
Uncle Pecos from Tom & Jerry. When I saw Droogan I was expecting him to take out a guitar and sing "CRAMBOW!".[face_cowboy]

Also, the Hutt Council was awesome but I'm a little confused about names.
In the episode TC-70 calls one of the Hutts, "Aruba".
However, according to the episode guide, one of the Hutts is called Gorga the Hutt.
I think we need a "Who's who in the Hutt Council" guide.
