What do you think about Torts? Do you think he woulda hit Hartley?

 

I respect that Torts wants to protect his players, but he needs to control himself. He was pretty enraged, but I'm not sure that he would have actually hit the guy. I guess he's lucky that he didn't get the chance. His lack of self-control gets him a hearing. However, if Torts had hit Hartley, the hearing would be nothing more than a formality.

As far as I'm concerned, both coaches are at fault here. Sending out your fourth line with the obvious intent to start a brawl at the start of the game? That's as classless as what Torts did. I think there should be more than one hearing.

 

I don't know Torts well enough but I'd say I understand him wanting to talk to Hartley, who chose to be disrespectful to everyone. I'd fire him. Van and their coach could come out of this better or turn it into something.

 

Yes. Wanting to talk is understandable. Torts would have regretted taking it any further though. A physical display would have ensured a brutal outcome to the hearing. He may receive a severe punishment anyway.

Speaking of disrespect, the NFL is atrocious. The conclusion of the NFC championship proved to the world that some players have no class whatsoever.
