So, console talk. The Sega Mage Drive (also known to some as the *Genesis*) was possibly the greatest thing ever... with the NES and SNES close behind. Nothing will ever beat the Retro consoles.

Yeah, but they heralded the coming of some of the best games ever which were mounted on cartridges ie. GoldenEye and MarioKart.

 

I remember when the MD came out with 'Altered Beast' and it was the 'best thing ever'. LMAO. It was lame. Everything Nintendo done was better than Sega. Both in gameplay, technical, and graphical.

 

Sonic? Streets of Rage? Boogerman?...

Well Lylat Wars for the N64 is beautiful, so it's predecessor must have been something special.

 

Not really. Although, on a 16bit console in 1993 it was ok. A 486 pc could have done it I suppose.

yep snes is the best, the only reason to have a MD was for Sonic, Street fighter, Mortal kombat mario, Donkey kong etc etc, all great games.

But cart price was so bad, i remember paying £75 for Mortal Kombat 3 on the friday before it was released, i would never never ever pay that much for a game now.

 

I remember my first computer. Good ol' Amstrad, cassette loading, 20 minutes of screeching black and green screened games like sabatour.

Or my first PSX game, at my mates house, watching the opening video to Resident Evil 1 and thinking, that SNES has to go...

Ahh, the memories.

 

The memories...

I remember switching from the Acorn Electron to the first NES and being pleasantly surprised that games loaded up in a few seconds as opposed to half an hour (Football Manager 1 anyway).

I rented "Enter the Matrix" for Game cube today....

it is very good and it looks beautiful.

i give it a 8.5/10

NOTHING beats Pro Evolution and as i have said before... i love to play it with hard on!

 

Played iSS3 at a mates last night - was ok, not much of a step up from 2; but ISS Pro EVo 3 comes out on Cube in about3-4 months so I'll probably wait for that. Less arcadey more sim.

also, Pro eveolution for the PS2 is very good i think.

 

I love Nintendo, I have Burnout, Bounty Hunter, Clone Wars, Fifa football 2003, Jedi Outcast, Resident Evil, Rouge Leader, Spider-man, Zelda : the wind waker and Metroid Prime. Zelda & Prime = everything a game needs. And who else can't wait till Mario Kart : Double Dash & Rebel Strike.

 

oft i meant sonic was the only reason for a mega drive!!!!! - the others were better on the snes.
