Same. I'm sad about RGB because of the threat to democracy. She fought so hard to stay alive, and now Trump and McConnell may appoint a vile successor. Ugh. We need to get in the streets..pressure the Democrats to block it!

 

I gave up on trying to save anything from the Republican Party. It’s time to start over. I am fine with a “Conservative party” in practice anyway. But I gave up on worrying about the Republican Party in 2016 what will happen will happen.

 

The "coping" activities I listed in this thread earlier seem woefully inadequate tonight.

 

Tonight my coping strategy is to pretend I haven’t learned anything and drown in extremely long pretentious movies

 

Just grow numb to it. That’s what I did and it’s worked out for me since I cried myself to sleep in 2016

 

Yeah, today it's really tough.
I didn't even go running to release endorphins and compensate my inner deep sadness with ephemeral physical well-being.

 

I just read the thread title as Captain America Authoritarianism. Sounded legit.

 

retreating to 1994 when I asked for a bowl cut a week before my seventh birthday and I didn't know how stupid it looked. I didn't know how stupid anything was.
