Yes, they all look beautiful. They all look a lot like earth creatures with an artistic twist.

It's actually "fathier" without an "L" so the joke is even easier to make. :)

Reading the visual dictionary page about the fathiers made me feel really bad for them. Poor things...having to stand and sleep in literally the same position within their stalls with no room to move or turn around...sad :(

Also, the vulptex is a cool name for the crystalline foxes.

Is The Last Jedi the only SW movie not to have some kind of menacing monster/creature in it that has to be battled or fled from?

Revenge of the Sith didn't have that either.

True. But ROTS at least had General Grievous, and he was definitely a spooky alien/creature who had to be fought, so he sort of counts. Not a beast though.

With TFA, Rogue One and Solo all having adversarial creatures in them, TLJ still seems like an outlier.

I disagree. While Grievous is a "spooky alien", he's a character, not a monster. I mean, if we're gonna count Grievous, then Snoke could be considered such a creature as well, and I don't think anyone of us count him.

Rogue One doesn't really have a creature like that either - Bor Gullet is creepy, but never poses much threat to any of our main characters, and is never fought or escaped from.

I agree on the first point, but Bor Gullet is totally a threat to one of our leads. I mean sure maybe not a physical threat, but it damn near destroys Bohdi's mind.

TLJ at least has beasts wreaking havoc on Canto Bight ;)

Sure, but then he's basically fine a couple of scenes later, and neither Bor Gullet nor the effects of the "interogation" is seen or mentioned again.
I mean, it kind of qualifies still, but to me it doesn't really fill the "monster threat" part that things like the Dianoga, Wampa, Rancor, Rathtars, etc do.

I think it is more of a case of them just using Gullet poorly by having him be moved past so quickly. Like if the Wampa had only attacked the Tauntaun I would still call it the ESB monster, but it would lack the same impact as say the Acklay

    TPM - Opee Sea Creature
AOTC - Acklay, Reek and Nexu
ROTS - Nos (cut from movie)
    R1 - Bor Gullet
    ANH - Dianoga
ESB - Wampa, Dragonsnake and Exogorth
    ROTJ - Rancor and Sarlacc
    TFA - Rathars
TLJ - Doesn't seem to have one

Yeah I noticed TLJ doesn't have a monster that is threat. And Bor Gullet was pretty creepy and gross, what with those tentacles and all. It sort of reminded me of the creature from Prometheus.
