    Tep Sardona
Hyperspace ~ En route ~ Dromund Kaas

Niluk was ruthless, culling his flock by getting rid of the weak. Allowing only those strong to proceed with him. Tep reflected on such as the shuttle and transport had reached their jump points high above the system Ord Mandel. One after another starting with the transport they jumped all of them the transport, shuttle, and two TIE Advanced fighter in escort, heading back to base, their course being Dromund Kaas. They had managed to take 49 civilians, more than enough. His Master would be most pleased. In the meantime they had drawn out quite a few enemies. It was expected this had been only one of several raids over the past few galactic standard months, it was only a matter of time before they drew the attention of the Jedi and the Republic. Still there had been quite a few different arrivals, one in particular whom still piqued his curiosity the Brunette woman, her fire and determination has caught his eye. She did not wear the uniform of any Republic department or entity that he knew of. Why had she been there? And to what extent was her involvement in Republic affairs? She was emotionally involved. Deeply. This was something that cut to her core and exuded passion from the young woman. Tep admired that, and even yearned to nurture such perhaps.

“Now then!” Tep heard the voice of the Dark Jedi Niluk from behind him, as he gazed at the swirling hyperspace tunnel outside the shuttle’s cockpit. “I think we can help each other out, according to rumours you’ve been mutating innocent people and I have so many Droids hidden in storage, perhaps their parts could be useful for your experiments, if not they make for good muscle. I also have names of two of the people hunting you and their professions as well as a potential base of operations on Coruscant for you to use……. What do you say?”

Tep turned back towards the shuttles main corridor, addressing the Dark Jedi he had invited to board his vessel.

‘You have introduced yourself sir, and now I offer you the same courtesy.’

‘Tep Sardona.’ He bowed his head slightly introducing himself. ‘Your arrival was welcomed, as it seems we have aligned mutual interests.’ Tep was sizing the being up further, he had not let him onto his shuttle and potentially bound the being to their mission and subsequent order without a prior assessment. The man’s resources and presentation on the battlefield had allowed them a considerable advantage on Ord Mandel. In fact they might not have been nearly as successful without such. Tep owed the being his thanks. ‘I admit, without your arrival. We may not have been able to accomplish to the extent what we have.’

Tep stood his ground as there was little room to maneuver in the shuttle. Allies were always welcomed, but always also tenuous, not that Niluk had given him reason to be defensive. Such was just an inherent aspect of the nature of the path they walked.

‘I do believe that we can help each other out as well!’ Tep felt that Niluk was powerful, feeling the confidence and energy from within him. Ironic slightly that two so powerful had found each other in such chaos. The Force did indeed work in such ways.

It would not be long until they arrived only a few hours. Looking at the Dark Jedi Tep felt a bolstering sense of what could be accomplished. Of course he had been sure of the operation and previous ones, he had always been sure in himself since a young age. Confident in his abilities and processes. The plan had worked out very well in this instance. Tep’s Master would be most pleased, though Tep’s plans had always been grander. His loyalty for what it was worth was to his Master, but every situation presented was another opportunity to be had and explored. The idea of bolstering their ranks with droid defenses would be well received, allowing them to mount a stout defense against what he knew was an oncoming push from those they had just encountered on Ord Mandel. The mixture of security personnel, slicers, Jedi, and vigilantes would be coming for them in hopes of stopping them from continuing their rise to power. Tep knew they would be tracking them, it was about time they managed to do so after so long.

    Let them come…

‘The Republic and their lackeys will be coming fro us no doubt…’
Tep spoke to Niluk knowing that the forces previously engaged would be quick and hot on their heals.

‘We’ve considerable defensive forces in place, but with your resources we might be able to catch them off guard…’

    ‘Perhaps you have ideas?’

While he was awaiting to continue the conversation and build the relationship with the Dark Jedi Niluk, Tep’s comlink buzzed. Hew knew who it was the instant it had without even looking. The man was impatient, perhaps his only flaw… still he had expected an inquiry into the mission sooner or later. If his Master had only confidence in him! Was that a reflection on Tep’s abilities or his Master’s insecurities? It did not matter now. Tep needed to respond to this call, and do so immediately. Tep had straightened up a bit as he looked at his commlink, no doubt Niluk had noticed while pondering his words and questions. Tep did not relish leaving a discussion at such, but he knew he had left the new ally with enough to think about and eventually respond to.

    ‘Excuse me, my friend.’

‘I must…’ Tep offered no further explanation, he just simply gestured at his commlink for Niluk to see.

A quick bow and Tep moved past Niluk, no disrespect intended, simply business and matters to attend to. The matter being the summoning of him by his Master. Tep moved into one of the few chambers within the Lambda Class shuttle, this particular one having a projector present.

Tep kneeled before the circular holographic projector and kept his head low until he was addressed by his Master Dagen Kai, whom he awaited to appear before him. Expecting an update.

IC: NPCs Security Officer Windy Gibbons, Dagger-class starfighter, "Onaway"
    Location: Worlport city, Ord Mantell

Gibbons watched his first volley coruscate across a clearly shielded crew pod, failing to penetrate the barrier, then caught movement along in a couple of places along the transport's upper hull where it curved down to the sides.

Surely not. He thought, These things are unarmed...whoops, no they aren't!

The moment he realised that a pair of weapons emplacements were raising and swivelling towards him, he pulled his control stick to the right, and banked the fighter sharply away from the slaver ship as laser blasts, well, blasted past him, skimming past his left-side canopy.

He was far too close to the ground to do a fancy evasive manouver, the heads of people not that far below him, as he skimmed over them.

The targetting mechanism sounded a warble as it found a new target, and he depressed the trigger instinctively, even as he was still moving sideways, his bolts zeroing in on a droideka, and exploding it into a roiling expanse of golden flame, almost instantaneously as it's shield globe evaporated.

Windy steered the ship to put the Gallofree's crew pod between himself and the ship-mounted guns.

    "Gold Leader from Base One."

The security officer recognised that being the only starfighter of the volunteer-staffed Gold Wing Defense Force up here, meant that he was the Gold Leader being referred to, and if lived he lived through this, he would make sure to impress upon the rest of the squad that they were taking this 'volunteer' thing a bit far!

"Base One?" He transmitted, warily keeping himself clear of any return fire as the transport and the other ships lifted off, people clutching the retracting ramp at it climbed for the heavens. "That's a bit grand isn't it? You're a watchtower!"

"Be advised, TIE Fighters have cleared the planet."

Gibbons leaned forwards to glance up through the window panes, at clear blue skies. "TIE Fighters, what TIE F-"

Green laser blasts bracketted him, gouging twin swathes through the plaza, and then two sets of folded solar fins, reminiscent of those that the Empire used on, well, their TIEs, swooped past to the left and right of him, let go a missile each, and nosed up in pursuit of the slave transports.

    "Oh, you sons of slitches-"

The retort over his communicator snapped off as the fired concussion missile hit the watchtower halfway up its bricked height, shattering it, and continuing out the other side towards the horizon.

The other government building did not fare much better, the upper floors collapsing completely as the areas around the impact spot were pulverised by the velocity of the concussion missile.

"Get your stuff together, we have to leave." That take-charge girl broadcasted over the government response freq'. "We have a shrinking window to find these monsters and I don't want to miss it."

Gibbons felt a twinge of regret that he could not be part of that, or even pursue those escaping ships.

His fighter had no life support, and he had gotten over here too fast to find and put on his vacsuit, or even do the requisite pre-flight checks on his craft: he would never know if doing so would have enabled him to fire upon that crew pod with all three of his guns, or have picked up those inbound TIEs much earlier, or at all, come to that.

Someone else came over the comm: "B-But... what about the civilians? Will they be alright?"

Maybe if the Republic shipped in some therapists.

Hovering a couple of hundred metres up in the air, and now out of danger, Gibbons nosed his ship around to survey the scene. Ambulances could be seen nosing tentatively into the plaza from all routes, but not actually coming in, despite the 'take-charge girl' telling first responders what to expect.

He thought that calling them first responders was a bit generous on this occassion. He was a second responder, and he had gotten involved long before those cowardly frakkers.

He transmitted over 1-5-4, laying the patronising tone on with a spatula, "Medical vehicles from Gold Leader. It's alright, you can come in now; the bad people have gone."

    "But what about those droideka?"

He looked, nosing his ship down to help. "Good point."

Two of the war droids were still firing pinky-red blaster fire across the plaza, while in an eerie copy of the iconic Lethal Weapon Two holo-actioner, the third appeared to have been smashed by a disembodied fresher from one of the destroyed buildings. He hoped no-one had been sitting on it at the time.

The surviving droids were mainly targeting those that had been abandoned by the departing ships, civilians and paramilitary alike, as far as he could see.

"Our mission is to find these monsters, not clean up after them."

Well, you are doing a bang up job, Darlin', he thought, transmitting back to the ambos (ambulances), "Alright, give me a minute."

"Gold Leader from Ground One, hold your position. We've got this."

The very welcome, but rather belated sight of a ten-wheeled A5 Juggernaut thundered into the plaza, heading for the centre, its huge wheels not caring about the fractured terrain from the TIE strafing.

Concussion grenades took out the remaining droideka in short order, eliciting, a moment later, a wail of emergency sirens, and the activation of roof flashers, as ambulances glided into the plaza from all directions.

    IC: Angeo Lim, Pantolomin Base

    Location: Pantolomin

Angeo listened as Leia answered her question.

"Ah! Their names are CeCe, Dasha, Oliver, and the Jedi that recently joined them are Mara Jade and Sevrina. They can ask for one of their help once they arrive there."

All of a sudden, Lim overheard a door opening, then the off-holo voice of the secretary she had spone to earlier: "My deepest apologies, my lady. I just got word from Worlport that the enemy ships escaped with some of the civilians. But there may be some injured abductors left to question."

Leia nodded at this with deep concern. "I see. Thank you Jiya. We'll take it from here." The Chief of State turned to Angeo with a quiet sigh. "Hopefully, your comrades are there to assist anyone in need and meet up with the rescuers. And I hope someone there knows what's going on..."

Hearing almost first hand that more civilians had been taken, had Angeo wondering if she should commit SGIS more fully into this endeavour, then she spotted out of her peripheral vision, a framed portrait on the wall, of Samantha in her school uniform, the eyes of which had lit up yellow, and were flashing discretely for attention.

"Ah, that is my daughter now. Thank you for the information, Your Highness. I will sign off, and contact you back if I hear anything of import. SGIS, out."

She blanked the monitor, and turned to the painting, "Go ahead, Samantha."

A blue-tinged holograph generated between her and the frame, showing the faces of both girls, who reported that they were close to reverting at Ord Mantell, finally.

"Unfortunately, you just missed the kidnappers. They have just departed Ord Mantell with a consignment of civilians." She registered their downcast expressions. "It's not your fault, girls, but you need to hurry and make contact with the existing rescue team before they move on as well. Now, names that you can ask for, are, CeCe, Dasha, Oliver, the jedis Mara Jade and Sevrina." The former SGIS' leader smiled warmly to encourage her kids: "Go get 'em, Ice Tigers!"

IC: Samantha Irisa, Baille Harte "The Detective Wyms" Firespray-class patrol ship

Location: Ord Mantell, Bright Jewel system

The starlines shortened around their ship, dropping them within a star system that the navigational computer identified as as the Bright Jewel system, and the distant blue, white, and tan marble ahead of them, expanding rapidly as they closed at full sublight, certainly looked bright enough and jewel-like to qualify.

"Last chance!" Irisa offered from the pilot's seat as she took the craft into the planet's gravity well, controlling their descent as the firmament outside the canopy brightened gradually from the deepest blackness to a dark blue.

Behind her, Baille, struggling to marry up the party dress that she wanted to wear, with a protective vest, and the yellow rainbow t-shirt that would be her uniform for the op'. "Just drop it, will you."

"Alright, have it your way." Samantha glanced over her shoulder. "The blue t-shirt would go better with the dress, even though they are different shades."

Baille had the many-layered skirts hitched up so that she could slip her Umbrella slugthrower into the thigh-holster velcroed to her leg, and glanced irritably at her cousin. "How is that dropping it?"

"Okay, fine. Go in looking like a Life Day cake if you want." She turned back to the front, keying her commo board to the advised frequency of 1-5-4. "This is the patrol craft, Detective Wyms, representing Rainbow Rescue Rangers, a division of SGIS, heading to Worlport. Can we speak to Sevrina, or Mira Jade, please." She had chosen the jedi as most likely to be in charge of Princess Leia's small team.

"Our mission is to find these monsters, not clean up after them."

CeCe sighed to herself while thinking on another way to make sure the people were alright. Perhaps there were others that could assist the civilians?

"Are you hurt? Is anything broken?" She gestured toward Oliver. "Is he in need of medical attention?"

Sevrina asked once she and Mara came to where CeCe was. The young woman smiled quietly as she slowly stood up and coughed. "N-Nah. I'm good. Our friend was too eager to join his new playmates..." She then glanced at Oliver with a sad look. She only wished she could have been there for him. CeCe was no Force user, but she felt that she could have done more for her comrade.

Going over to Oliver, the female vigilante held him in comfort. “W-where... where is...” Oliver looked at CeCe, who was visibly in pain from fighting Niluk. “CeCe! Are you..”

"Whoa there, tough guy. I'm okay. The bigger question is: Will you be okay." She gave him a reassuring grin. Deep down, CeCe was happy to see Oliver okay. Plus, she admired his noble and brave heart. In this galaxy full of scum and villainy, Oliver seemed to care for everyone. Especially his comrades' well-being.
“We’ve just had the kark kicked out of us, we’re not ready to chase them.”

True. Plus CeCe at least wanted to make sure the rest of the civilians had medics around.

"Ready or not we have to." she admonished the young jedi a little put off by his defeatist tone, wasn't he supposed to be the optimist. "The longer we wait the more time they have to find my tracker, the more time they have to move base and possibly slaughter the people they've collected. We have to move as soon as we can."

Ooh, that made sense. Once they found the tracker, it would be too late. They had to move soon and not lose the bad guys' signal. "Fine," she replied almost snarling. "Catch your breaths but, once you're ready we leave." Now that was a relief. Suddenly she heard something through the government channel frequency.

"First responders should be prepared to staunch some bleeding, lots of blaster wounds, going to need a clean up crew on the north side, heavy machinery lot of rubble."

CeCe nodded and gazed up at the sky with squinted eyes. The air around them was filled with slight dust due to the insane skirmish with the abductors. Whoever they were, they were gonna pay dearly for all the lives they took. The people they kidnapped... like Lana. She would find her old Cosian friend and make sure she was safe again. The one person that made her feel that there was hope for the young woman.

Standing there, CeCe coughed. "Anybody else need medical attention? I can help."

All of a sudden, the young woman spotted a ten-wheeled A5 Juggernaut thunder into the plaza, heading for the centre. It began to get rid of the remaining droideka and do its work. This made CeCe grin. "I've gotta get me one of those."

All of a sudden, a voice could be heard through the frequency: "This is the patrol craft, Detective Wyms, representing Rainbow Rescue Rangers, a division of SGIS, heading to Worlport. Can we speak to Sevrina, or Mira Jade, please."

CeCe raised her eyebrows and glanced towards the direction of Dasha.

"Thank you." Leia nodded and sighed out as well. She softly sighed and turned her chair to the large window that elongated from behind. The Chief of State got and observed the city of Coruscant. It was the evening and she just wanted to be with her children. To have them safely in her arms. The orange and blue colors filled the skies, knowing that a new day would arrive for some. Leia bowed her head sadly.

Sevrina and Mara witnessed the exchange and supportiveness between CeCe and Oliver. Already with such a short but intense crisis, the team was becoming mutually supportive and cohesive.

Mara's comlink picked up the broadcast regarding first responders and the arrival of SGIS forces. She cast a glance over at the slicer, Dasha, whose resourcefulness had bought them all more than a comfortable amount of wiggle room.

    Worlport

Dasha remained crossed legged on the ground datapad in her lap, tactical droid still attached to it downloading the data. More reinforcements showed up a large thundering Juggernaut came rolling into the plaza dealing with the rest of the droids, clearing the way for the ambulances and other responders get to the scene. Finally they showed up, where were they before.

Dasha's mood was souring quickly as she watched the tracker move further and further away. She could feel the tension in her growing and growing If they didn't act soon all her work would be for naught. If there was one thing she hated it was wasted work. As it seemed their job was done, she switched over to decoding what she was able to download from the droid head. It would take a bit but, she might as well get started now, since no one seemed ready to leave just yet.

"This is the patrol craft, Detective Wyms," a voice called out over the general comm frequency, "representing Rainbow Rescue Rangers, a division of SGIS, heading to Worlport. Can we speak to Sevrina, or Mira Jade, please."

Right away it seemed everyone looked to Dasha, waiting for her to do...something. She rolled her eyes quickly pulling up a search field and looking for any information on SGIS. The Secret Galactic Intelligence Service, was exactly what it said on the tin, a covert group that operates throughout the galaxy doing...well doing whatever they felt like really. Generally they were on the side of the Republic but, some stories said other things. They seemed legit enough, however she couldn't find any information on the Rainbow Rescue Rangers...must be a joke, or some strange division with in the SGIS, the Holo-net, even the darker parts were a little murky as it would normally be with intelligence services on how it was structured and who was a part of it. She shrugged her shoulders back tracing the comm message to the Detective Wyms and arranging a secure comm connection.

"Patching though now." She replied using her Twi'lek voice print. No sense giving away anything about her just yet. Dahsa held up three fingers counting down until she pointed at Jade and Sevrina. They were live with the Rainbow Rangers, on a secure connection running though Dasha's comset to give it the range to reach wherever the other women were.

Oliver could feel CeCe holding him, trying to comfort him. A gesture of kindness, a gesture appreciated, but, still he felt as if he could not look directly into CeCe’s eyes out of shame, if not for him, she would never have fought Niluk alone. Despite the shame, he was glad the woman with pink hair allowed them to have their rest, something Oliver desperately needed now, given the vision he just saw. Mara Jade approached him.

“What was that? Anything we can use to plan?" Oliver could tell she was trying to not to make him uncomfortable, though, he could not answer, for he still needed to know himself before revealing it.

“I... I have no idea what he showed me,” he thought carefully about what he would say next. “It went by too fast.”

Oliver felt ashamed for lying, however, it was all he could do for now. Oliver heard a broadcast from his comlink, help had come, a group called the Rainbow Rescue Rangers. He felt a small trace of anger within himself. Had they arrived earlier, Niluk and the kidnappers could have been caught and they could have found out what was going on. He then realised, the emotion that was going through his head was anger, a path to the dark side. He felt disappointed in himself, these people had come to the rescue, to help them all, and his first thought was how they were late.

“What happened?” Oliver asked CeCe, unable to look at her. “Where are Niluk and the others?”

There was a pause after Mara's probing question of Oliver. He answered with slow deliberation:

“I... I have no idea what he showed me. It went by too fast.”

Mara frowned. There was an undercurrent, as if he were holding back, although that could be no more than from the fact he had to process it all in his own mind.

Suddenly, Mara was distracted by Dasha's silent indication that there was a communication on the comm-link band of someone who wanted to speak to her or Sevrina, patched through and scrambled. Were these reinforcements to help the beleaguered civilians?

"This is Mara Jade." She said crisply. " With whom am I speaking?"

Location: Ord Mantell, Bright Jewel star system

Clouds scudded past the curved canopy as the ship descended through the planet's atmosphere.

"This is Mara Jade. With whom am I speaking?" Finally came back, after a pause.

Samantha leaned towards the voice pickup to answer the prim speaker, but Baille cupped a hand over it before she could respond. "Keep her talking as long as you can; it'll help us trace the call."

Samantha looked sideways at her cousin. "You've been wearing that S.T.A.N.G. vest too often. We're not the cops." She slapped the other's hand out of the way. "Hi, this is Samantha Irisa and Baille Harte. Sorry we're late, but we came from much further away than Coruscant, so it took us longer to get here."

"Stay on the line." Baille chimed in. "We'll come directly to you."

Within just less than ten standard minutes, the city of Worlport opened up beneath them, then as they continued to descend, they could see the excitement and chaotic scenes at an expanse of fractured ferrocrete, pitted with explosion craters and littered with bodies.

"This looks like it." Samantha observed, grimacing out the forward port at the juggernaut-dominated plaza. "What a mess."

Harte frowned. "Not seen that many bodies since terrorists ambushed a cavalcade I was in, on Lepsawn 1-9." She did not elaborate that that had been during her time working for the Empire.

Irisa re-oriented her craft so that the ion thrusters faced the ground and took them into a descent, cutting the engines so that it was the craft's repulsors that took them the last few dozen metres to the ground.

Samantha pulled a pink rainbow t-shirt over her long-sleeved khaki blouse, pulled it down to settle around her gunbelt and holstered DL-44 blaster pistol, and followed Baille out of the opening hatch and down the abbreviated ramp onto the windswept plaza, the chill breeze whipping her skirt around her knees, though not nearly as wildly as it was doing with Baille's sky blue party dress, the many layers catching the airflow, and almost obscuring the determined redhead's form to the extent that they had as much chance of spotting the rainbow on her blue t-shirt, as the Millennium Falcon had of successfully speed-of-lighting through a planetary shield with a fractional refresh r-

"If you blow away, don't expect me to chase you."

Baille ignored her, one hand holding an E-11, while the other tried to get enough control of her wildly whipping hair to see if anyone was waving towards them.
Eventually, she tugged on Samantha's sleeve and indicated the crushed droideka with the mostly intact fresher sitting on it. "Gives new meaning to the term, 'toilet humour'."

Samantha was more concerned with meeting up with this 'rescue team', but she had an idea. "Try to look lost."

    "What do you mean, try?"

OOC: Seeing Oliver have doubts and anger build up due to the failure he faced is really good, @TheSenatessaber. I like how you portray his character so far. Keep it up! You all are doing a great job too. :D

    IC: CeCe Barula

Near the Plaza of Worlport, Ord Mantell

After Dasha gave the signal for Mara and Sevrina to speak to someone through their comm connection, CeCe held Oliver's arm gently. She wanted to make sure he was alright due to his ordeal. The way he screamed and breathed in horror while in a 'hallucination' made the young woman feel very concerned. If there was one thing her mentor taught her, he would say, "Always look out for those who have your back. No ifs, ands, or buts about it." CeCe then heard the disappointed Oliver speak. He could barely even look at her.

“What happened?” Oliver asked CeCe, unable to look at her. “Where are Niluk and the others?”

The vigilante held him close in comfort. "Those cowardly Bantha fodders ran off. They took some civilians too. Luckily, we were able to save a few. But others..." She glanced at the plaza where the half-ruined Government building stood; a heartbroken expression on her face. "Others didn't make it..." She took Oliver to rest on a boulder. Bending down halfway on her knees, the young brunette gazed up at the weary young Jedi after handing him a cool bottle of water from her black backpack. "Here. Go easy on yourself, tough guy. And don't worry. We'll get that sleemo Niluk." CeCe stood up straight and went over to investigate the dead bodies.

Sadness and cries of despair filled the air. You could barely hear the sounds of the wind due to the cries and groans of pain. This almost reminded her of the time where she sneaked inside one of the Karazak Slaver base to free captured slaves. People were crying and in pain, begging their captors to be free. Then, like a Ruping, CeCe swooped in, fought the bad guys with blaster and fists, and tried her best to free the slaves. But this... this was totally different. CeCe and her comrades were up against something bigger and more dangerous.

A few minutes later, the town's medics and authorities came up to CeCe and asked, "Were you the ones that tried to stop those abductors from taking the civilians?" one of the officers asked. CeCe didn't like to speak with authority figures but this was about the hurting people. So she hesitantly cooperated. "Yes sir. We were sent by Chief of State Leia Organa Solo."

The male officer nodded. "Yes, we were told that help would be on the way. Thank you for your services. Will you be staying to help the people or are you going after those scums?" CeCe grinned with confidence. "You can bet your blasters we'll be after them. You guys do what you can for these people. And we'll make sure reinforcement can help Worlport." After they spoke and the medics departed with the officers, CeCe walked back to the group.

"Dasha's right. We've gotta leave right now before we lose their signal." She glanced at Mara and Sevrina. "Tell the ladies we'll meet them by the Docking Bay Station. We'll introduce ourselves shortly. In the meantime, we've gotta get the move on." CeCe paced over to Oliver and slowly placed his arm over her shoulders. "C'mon tough guy. I've got ya."

CeCe held Oliver closer. “Those cowardly Bantha fodders ran off. They took some civilians too. Luckily, we were able to save a few. But others... Others didn't make it..."

Oliver looked around at all the devastation. They would reap what they sow soon enough, justice would would be dealt out and it would be dealt out harshly. CeCe sat him on a boulder and passed him a drink of water. He took a quick drink before he remembered something, something that changed his thoughts on resting in one quick moment.

“If you ever wanted to see how someone would react if they were shown a vision of their parents being killed and infant sister being abducted, that was the place to be.”

‘She’s alive!” He thought. ‘My sister’s alive!’

He now truly understood, they couldn’t rest, not anymore. With his sister being alive and held hostage by Niluk as well as his vision, it was more important to him than ever that they find Niluk and the others. Fortunately, it seemed CeCe was ready to go as well as she put his arm around her shoulders.

“C'mon tough guy. I've got ya."

Oliver rose up from where he sat, thankful for her actions, he was prepared to chase after them now and he would make sure that they would never escape again. As he moved along he could see his Lightsaber on the ground, he assumed Niluk must have thrown it away after he disarmed him. Using the Force, he pulled it towards him, ready for another fight against Niluk and to help out against the kidnappers.

Mara and Sevrina observed as first responders arrived and started coordinating clean-up and retrieval/rescue. They approved of CeCe's warm and empathic comportment with Oliver. He seemed to rally and regained his lightsaber. Mara and Sevrina both knew that losing one's 'saber would be a deeply demoralizing blow.

Figuring that all was done that could be, they headed back to the Docking Bay.

"Hi, this is Samantha Irisa and Baille Harte." The new arrival identified herself, Dasha was still listening to everything being said, she was the conduit. "Sorry we're late, but we came from much further away than Coruscant, so it took us longer to get here." It explained a few things but, now this is all wasting time. Her tracker was still operating so the slavers haven't found it yet. They likely won't not until they landed.

"Stay on the line." another voice spoke up, "We'll come directly to you."

The slicer squirmed a little hearing that. She hated being tracked, even if it was for good reasons. The irony of her hating to be tracked while tracking another was not lost on her she was just choosing to ignore it. She looked up to the sky watching the ship come down from above. Was this all team, were they finally all together.

She continued to decode waiting for everyone else was ready to go. Out of the corner of her eye she kept an eye her target. Never before was she so singularly focused on goal. Sure there was heists, and other jobs that she threw herself into. This one was personal.

"Dasha's right." The slicer turned at hearing her name, "We've gotta leave right now before we lose their signal." Dasha was already on her feet, marching her way towards the landing pad. "Tell the ladies we'll meet them by the Docking Bay Station. We'll introduce ourselves shortly. In the meantime, we've gotta get the move on."

With a few taps she turned on her voice mask again the twi'lek.

"Pardon me," she said being somewhat polite though her stride hadn't broken. "We are coming towards you, or at least the landing pad." She hunted down the other signals winnowing them down until she had pinpointed the Detective Wyms. "I have placed a tracker on the transport they were using. Time is of the essence. When we are closer I'll forward the frequency to you." She'd have to do the same with Jade and the other woman, to keep everyone together.

There was no way she was waiting for another moment.

Getting battered by winds, starts to lose its novelty factor after a bit, so the SGIS' girls had repaired to the lee of the giant Juggernaut for a bit of shelter from it, relaxing and able to breathe again.

They were nearer to some of the rescuers, though they had a good view of people being loaded onto stretchers, and helped into ambulances.

There was a flurry of colour as a large bird with an explosion of greenish-blue and pink feathers, folded its wings and settled onto the ferrocrete near to some of the moaning, but not yet dealt with, casualties, drawing despaired swearing from a couple of them.

It aimed beady little eyes around with a clear, pimp-like, 'What it is?' attitude, till the blaster bolt from someone nearby, disintegrated it.

Baille and Samantha glared at the shooter as he holstered his sidearm, as multi-coloured feathers floated to the ground.

    "Chicken, tonight?" Samantha queried caustically.

"It's a carrion bird, Miss." The local explained, squinting at her. "Mantellian flutterplume. If we leave them be, they'll just start feeding on the casualties."

"Ah, okay." Baille interjected. "Carry on, then."

"Thanks. You know, if you two are not busy, we could do with some help digging out survivors of our Watchtower."

"Pardon me," A voice broadcast over their comlinks, bringing the watchtower conversation to a halt. "We are coming towards you-"

    Ah, that was good news.

"-or at least the landing pad."

    That wasn't.

"But we're not at the landing pad." Samantha told Baille.

    "Don't tell me, tell her!"

"I have placed a tracker on the transport they were using. Time is of the essence. When we are closer I'll forward the frequency to you."

Samantha lifted her wrist-com to her lips, sending, "You do know that we didn't land at the spaceport, right? We followed your signal and landed in-" She paused to look questioningly as the Chicken Shooter.

"Government Plaza." He supplied, correctly guessing her questioning look.

Nodding her thanks to him, she continued transmitting, "-Government Plaza. We are not at the landing pad."

Baille sighed and snatched at her cousin's wrist, pulling it to her so that she could speak into her wrist-com. "Do you want us at the landing pad? We can fly over the spaceport, and you guys can lift off and join us at your leisure."

"You do know that we didn't land at the spaceport, right? We followed your signal and landed in-" Dasha took a deep breath, not breaking her stride. "-Government Plaza. We are not at the landing pad." looking up she saw the ship it had come down while she was busy and before she was really paying attention to the new arrivals.

"Do you want us at the landing pad?" another voice called over the comm, "We can fly over the spaceport, and you guys can lift off and join us at your leisure." her face remained stoic as she marched pass the chaos on a single minded mission. She looked at her datapad linking up with the Detective Wyms.

"My suggestion would be to take off now and follow the tracer." She had just finished forwarding the signal frequency, "You have the frequency, chase it down the faster we find them the faster we free the captives. We'll only be a few minutes behind." The voice mask was still up sounding like a cold twi'lek and kept moving not looking over her shoulder to check and see if the others were still with her. "Unless you're not up for it in which case, take off and wait for us at the landing pad, your choice."

At this point Dasha would figure out how to fly the Bleeding Heart on her own if she had to, she was sick to the back teeth of waiting, she had them in her grasp, they were not slipping through her fingers because of poor planning, and coordination. They will sort it out later, now it was about hunting down these monsters and rooting them out of their den.

Listening to the exchange with first & later responders, Mara chuckled at the blunt spoken icy rejoinder:

"My suggestion would be to take off now and follow the tracer. You have the frequency, chase it down... the faster we find them the faster we free the captives. We'll only be a few minutes behind. Unless you're not up for it in which case, take off and wait for us at the landing pad, your choice."

Mara exchanged glances with Sevrina and acknowledged: "We'll meet you at the docking bay." She had taken note of where the Bleeding Heart was berthed. It was as good a meeting-up place as any, if they decided to continue on together or part ways. It all depended on the plans Ms. Barula and her companions came up with.

CeCe nodded at all of this. "Settled. Let's move out, guys!" As she helped Oliver walk back to her ship Bleeding Heart, she glanced at one of the fallen mercenaries that assisted Tep but was left to die. It was a Human male with black hair and mercenary gear on. His side was in pain due to the blood and he did his best to stay alive. She had an idea come to mind and glanced over at Sevrina and Mara.

"Hey Mara and Sevrina. One of you two carry this merc back with us. Maybe you could use the Force or somethin' to carry him. If we do lose the signal, at least we have one of these jokers alive to tell us where the abductors are." She turned to Dasha and called out, "Let's be on our way, my friend. Thanks again for the quick thinking," CeCe said to the slicer, referring to the tracking frequency Dasha did. Grinning, the group headed towards Bleeding Heart with no further delays.

Moments later, as they came near the Bleeding Heart, CeCe turned to Oliver and asked, "Hey. You okay now?" She continued to help him towards her ship.

Sevrina nodded, and she and Mara assisted the young man with dark hair and bleary expression to stand, infusing him with a burst of energy at least to make it the brief way to the Bleeding Heart.

Sevrina said silently to Mara: Probably won't get much out of him, with the injury and all.

Plus whatever misguided loyalty he has, or self-interest more likely. Mara thought back with a cynical shrug. Although if his creds were forfeit anyway, he had nothing to lose by telling them what they wanted to know -- except that would make him less credible with the next bunch he tried to hire on with.

But that wasn't their concern, Mara decided as she and Sevrina kept pace with CeCe and the rest.

    Tep Sardona
Hyperspace ~ En route ~ One hour out ~ Dromund Kaas

"What news do you have for me, concerning Ord Mantell?" Tep rose from his knelt position as he heard his Master’s words and address of him. They would be arriving at Dromund Kaas in nearly an hour, but an update on the operation was clearly warranted.

“Our final count is 49 civilians, various species, genders, and ages.” Tep remained silent a moment to allow for his Master to muse over the news, he had hoped he would be satisfied as Tep had more than met his quote. Quietly he prepared for any reaction, as he had more than done his job. Their casualties had been expected as the Troopers they had took in had been expendable to begin with.

“Master?” Tep spoke up nodding his head as he spoke.

“They will most likely be tracking us... “

    “We should make preparations Master.”

Nearly and hour later the Medium Transport and command shuttle both dropped out of hyperspace the still alive world of Dromund Kaas visible as they quickly descended.

The transport and shuttle came to a landing at the main facility, which was heavily protected with air to air defenses. With the ships having landed it was not long before a parade line of the captives was being led to a cell block down in one of the ancient structures. The sounds of electric pulses and screams could be heard as Troopers herded the civilians, with their stun batons, down into a dark prison area spread across an underground lower level of a structure, augmented with modern upgrades and structural improvements. With the securing of the assets underway, Tep was making his way to one of the main temples which housed the personal laboratories and living quarters of his Master Dagen Kai. Tep moved at a balanced pace which would allow for the Dark Jedi Niluk to catch up and remain in step if he wished. He had much to discuss with the Dark Jedi Niluk and hoped their alliance would prove fruitful. Betting on the idea that the Dark Jedi had kept up he directed an inquiry to him.

“Your droid armies,” Tep continued his pacing walk.

“How quickly can you deploy squads?”

“We may need do create a diversion.”

Tep was nearing the entrance of his Master’s chambers at this point. Two guards, both force sensitives acknowledged his arrival but stood firm in their duties as he passed through with permission into one of his Master’s main labs and sanctuaries.

Tep bowed in the presence of his Master, awaiting to be addressed. Tep trusted the Dark Jedi would be respectful, even as powerful as he was.

Oliver made his way back to the Bleeding Heart, with CeCe walking him along. He owed this woman a lot, for providing him aid against Niluk and now helping him to walk along, but, he also had a great deal of respect for her. Her willingness to stand up to an opponent who had a mastery of the Force when she didn’t was something that should be, and would undoubtedly be, praised by other Force sensitives, regardless of victory or not.

“Hey. You okay now?” She asked.

Oliver faced the brunette and gave a small, but simultaneously, sad smile. “I will be, thanks.”

    ———————————————

    NPC: Sapetus Niluk
Location: Servants of Darkness Shuttle headed to Drommund Kaas

The Twi’lek returned the greeting to Niluk. “Tep Sardona, I admit, without your arrival. We may not have been able to accomplish to the extent what we have. I do believe that we can help each other out as well!’

Niluk could tell that the man was slightly cautious, though, he believed it to be due to him showing up unannounced on the battle, acting as aid and offering an alliance without asking for anything in return... yet.

‘The Republic and their lackeys will be coming for us no doubt… We’ve considerable defensive forces in place, but with your resources we might be able to catch them off guard… Perhaps you have ideas?’

Niluk pondered. The base he had on Coruscant would be the perfect place for a surprise ambush on the capital, with it being the last place they would ever expect. There would be no invasion fleets, just small groups of soldiers snuck into the shrine underneath Coruscant regularly and when the time was right they could strike, tearing the republic apart with the ferocity of a Nexu. Niluk prepared to share his plan to Sardona when a beeping noise came from the Twi’lek’s comlink.

“Excuse me, my friend. I must…” Sardona said, directing Niluk’s attention to his comlink, before politely nodding and moving past Niluk into a chamber away from him. Niluk could sense a level of frustration from the Twi’lek, presumably directed towards however was getting in contact with him. Niluk speculated that this was the master of Sardona.

An hour passed and the shuttle they were in left hyperspace, gracing Niluk with a beautiful sight, Drommund Kaas. Whilst not Korriban, it was still heaven for him. The Sith Lords that were trained on this planet, the temples and ruins, it was true divinity.

The ship landed on the panet and Niluk watched as the civilians were taken towards what he assumed was an underground prison, some of them being shocked by stun batons causing them to scream out with intense pain. It seemed the prison they were being led to was a dark, horrid place underground, or at least he hoped so. To Niluk, any sentient beings that could not touch the Force were simple, pathetic creatures, existing simply to act as drones to a greater power, like Darth Sidious or Darth Malgus. This was what they deserved in the cruel mind of Sapetus Niluk.

Niluk followed Sardona towards an ancient temple which he assumed to be their main base with his Crushers following behind him.

“Your droid armies, how quickly can you deploy squads? We may need do create a diversion.”

Niluk smiled. “They can be ready within 45 minutes to an hour, though that depends on where you’re pointing them at.”

Sardona led him to a door guarded by two Force sensitive individuals. With them both being allowed to pass, they entered a laboratory and standing in it was a man in a black and red robe with green eyes like the priceless jewels he would steal in his younger days, long black hair and a mostly black beard with grey hairs among them. Niluk did a light bow, prepared to introduce himself to this dark man who he intended to call his ally.

OOC: I wanted to make reference to how Dagen’s eyes were described like emeralds and I did think of putting in the symbol which the picture used to depict Dagen had on his head, but, I thought against it since it wasn’t in the bio. I also wanted to take Niluk back to his original description as well, with his view on non Force sensitive individuals shining through and his days when he was as a thief being referenced.

The girls crowded round the wrist-communicator to listen, having a good exchange with the take-charge femme giving them enough information to roll with.

They were no longer playing catchup. Now they were involved, and time was apparently off the essence, to follow the bad guys.

"My suggestion would be to take off now and follow the tracer."

Samantha nodded and looked over the wrist-com at Baille: "She must have transferred the signal frequency to the Detective Wyms."

    "Cool."

"You have the frequency, chase it down the faster we find them the faster we free the captives."

"But that will only be any good if they've left the keys in one of their transports." Baille pointed out.

    "Don't over-complicate things." Samantha warned.

    "Sorry."

"We'll only be a few minutes behind."

Samantha smirked cynically. "Enough time to change direction, in case your hear us meming the Battle of Endor, eh?" She snarked aloud, continuing with her impression of famous Rebel hero, General Lando Calrissian. "How can they be jamming us, if they don't know..., that we're coming?"

"Unless you're not up for it-"

"No, no, we're drokking doing it." Samantha countered, triggered by the sense of reverse psychology coming from the mystery voice.

"Rainbow Rescue Rangers are in hot pursuit." Baille assured the cold-toned femme on the comm, releasing her cousin's arm, to start striding determinedly towards their ship.

"Over and out." Samantha hurried to catch up, in a few moments walking up the ramp into the craft's rear hatch, her boots crunching over the sand of the 'beach' that she had installed just inside the entrance. "See if the nav-comp is aware of a signal to follow, while I seal up."

    "'Kay."

The vessel's owner watched the hatch close, and made sure it was magnetically sealed. With no airlock, she had to be more careful than most. Maybe one day, she would look at installing an atmospheric shield.

"Yeah, we've got a signal. They've gone to lightspeed."

Satisfied with the door, Samantha joined her cousin in the cockpit, instructing her to get strapped in. "Anything in that direction?"

"Genassa, first stop along a hyperlane straight from Ord Mantell, before it veers off into the Ottega Sector." Baille settled into the co-pilot chair, twisting to pull the seat restraints over her shoulders, and down to her waist. "Not much chance that they will be stopping there, though. You said there had been disappearances on lots of planets; be too much of a coincidence for their base of operations to be the first planet over from their latest hit."

Samantha strapped herself in, running a quick pre-flight check, glancing at Baille, visually confirming that she was safely strapped in, then hitting the thrusters, feeling herself pressed back into the seat cushion as they sprang rapidly into the air, within moments, the clouds slipping past them as they crossed into the dark blue of the upper atmosphere.

She steered them out of the gravity well, and towards a suitable hyperspace exit vector.

Dasha still hadn't stopped walking even as CeCe walked up behind her, and as Mara and Sevrina took up the injured merc, she didn't stop. She had a mission and a tracker she would find them, and do what was needed to free those inside.

She was about to snap at the woman on the other end of the line, saying that of course it wouldn't be that simple but, they would need someplace to start, and knowing where they were going was that start. Thankfully they ended the conversation soon afterwards. As much as she was tempted to drop in guns blazing she knew that wasn't how this mission was going to go. They were few against an army. If they had the full support of the Republic behind them maybe. They could call them in to back them up, a full fleet of Republic warships bristling with more firepower than five times the Bleeding Heart and the other ships that they had collected.

She could get a message to them, to the closest garrison, or to the Chief of State herself. That would at least assure they knew about it. It was the wisest course of action rather than jumping in blindly and without support.

As she marched up the ramp she sent a quick missive through the holonet. Encrypted and sent through the darkest corners of the net they would know who sent it, and they would know where they were going, mostly. She would send the tracking signal as well, hoping that Leia of all people would have enough pull to get something to them in time. Or sooner rather than later.

Once on board she found an unoccupied room and took it over, closing and locking the door behind her. She still had other work to do. She sent the frequency to both the Bleeding Heart and to the Jade's Fire. Everyone knew how to find these monsters, they might as well put up a sign saying:

    "Here"

They will rue the day they crossed her, she would bring the hammer right to their doorstep.

Now alone in the relative quiet of her borrowed room, she poured over the data taken from the tactical droid. She sat cross-legged on the bed, head in her lap and datapad resting on top of it. She would take every bit of information from this thing, every bit and byte was hers to know, there would be no more secrets. Whoever this fishy guy was, whatever he was planning would be known to her.

What she would do with that information was up to her.

"That blast came from the Death Star! That thing is OPERATIONAL!"

Both girls fell about laughing at this latest suggestion as to what to transmit back to the others in a sitrep (situation report) about what they had found at the eventual destination that the tracer signal had led them to.

Hyperspace energies rolled past the canopy, and beyond the ship's shields, as they sped towards the first stop-off point.

Samantha didn't know what the Twi'lek on the comm knew about the abilities of navigational computers, but those aboard the Detective Wyms needed a destination, in order to calculate a safe route through the various hyperspace hazards, and shave off time.

Baille forced herself to sit back up in her chair, breathing again to enable herself to speak. "We don't want to over-egg it, you know." She opined around a smirk. "We'll end up there by ourselves. Cos' who in their right mind wants to tangle with a Death Star?"

Samantha's head bounced up and down as she continued laughing, bowed over the control panel, mouth open, eyes closed.

"Okay, come on now, it wasn't that funny." Baille knew that was a lie.

Both girls had fought at the Battle of Endor, although not realising it until the Rebel celebrations afterwards.

Samantha had flown a B-Wing, her squadron supporting General Calrissian until they had realised the Death Star's shield was still up; while Baille had been dropped off at a creche on Home One, the Alliance's flagship star cruiser; waved Dad and Uncle Yav out the hangar as they took one of the explosive-laden suicide transports, and promptly told the deck officer that she could fly a starfighter, ultimately being assigned to stick with the fleet and help protect the Medical Frigate.

Visualising that massive battle station that a surprise Imperial fleet had sandwiched the Rebel forces against, she knew that any joke about the thing being at the next leg of this rescue mission, was funny as frag.

Samantha sobered as the now familiar two-tone warble from the nav-comp warned that it was time to revert at Genassa.

Using her forearm to wipe some drool from the control panel, the vessel's owner curved her fingers around the hyperdrive levers, and pulled back on them, blue-white starlines momentarily appearing outside, then changing into normal space with the dinner-plate sized disc of a planet in the distance, the half orangey-yellow, and half verdant green, agriworld growing rapidly before them as they closed on it at full sublight.

"Anything?" Samantha asked, glancing across at Harte.

"Signal has settled." Baille reported, confirming the nav-comp's findings. "Esstran Sector in the Outer Rim." She looked up. "Planetary directory does not have a whole lot of data about that region of space, so, somewhere in there."

"Okay, we will jump to the closest edge of that sector, then try and zero in on where to go from there. You alright doing the calculations, while I call in to the others?"

There is a common adage that no plan survives contact with the enemy, and nothing drives that point home like having to contact Worlport Space Control to ask what ships the rescuers from Coruscant had arrived in, cos the bossy femme on the comm hadn't thought it important to tell them.

Irisa signed off with the friendly fellow from Ord Mantell, and called back to the others: "Bleeding Heart and Jade's Fire from the Detective Wyms. Tracer signal has been traced to the Esstran Sector."

"We are in hot pursooot." Baille drawled from the side.

"Yes, thank you, J.W." Samantha eyed her cousin, thinking this was now too referential of Live And Let Die, and that she was going to start blaming this all on black rodians. "Do we need to contact your brother Billy Bob, who has the fastest wave-skimmer on the bayou?"

"You know you're still broadcasting, right?"

Samantha snapped her vision to the hypercomm. "Oh! Stang!" She toggled it off.

OOC: Phew! Sorry for the wait, guys. That was one hectic week...

    IC: CeCe Barula
    Aboard the Bleeding Heart

CeCe could see that Dasha was definitely in a hurry to catch up to the scums that took those innocent people. And who could blame her? She too was ready to take them on. Once she saw the Dark Jedi again, CeCe would make sure that she would give them a piece of her mind. And this vigilante girl had a few tricks up her sleeves, seeing that she outsmarted Kyp Durron before.

"What do you want to do with him?" Mara asked CeCe.

The young woman replied, "There are a pair of cuffs on my ship, located in a metal box in the lounge bay. Put those on him and strap him in. We'll be in hyperdrive as soon as we get off Ord Mantell. Fly safe."

Once they got inside the Bleeding Heart, CeCe placed Oliver gently down on the lounge bay's couch-like seat where the chess table was. "I'll be back, tough guy." With that, the young woman ran towards the cockpit area and sat down in her seat. Once she turned on the ship, a frequency signal popped up on her control panel screen. The tracker's signal was received!

"Clever slicer. Thanks," CeCe quietly yet happily said, referring to Dasha.

Once the Bleeding Heart flew upward in the air, CeCe hit the thrusters and sent the ship jetting up towards the skies and past the clouds. The slight pressure of Cece's seat was pressed back as well.

Once the ship flew into outer space, she received a message from the ones named Baille and Samantha. "Bleeding Heart and Jade's Fire from the Detective Wyms. Tracer signal has been traced to the Esstran Sector."

"Bleeding Heart to Jade's Fire and the Detective Wyms. This is CeCe responding. Thanks for the heads up. Setting the coordinates now." After this, CeCe began to do just that. Making sure she was on the tracking signal's trail, the young woman set the hyperdrive carefully and finally flew into hyperspace.

CeCe grinned. "Alright you scumbags! CeCe and the gang are comin' for ya!" she shouted, referring to the Servants of Darkness.

The young woman shook her head and chuckled. "Allies these days."

    IC: Dagen Kai

Inside the Dark Force Temple, Dromund Kaas

After he spoke with Tep, he awaited his apprentice's arrival to Dromund Kaas. Dagen was greatly pleased with Tep's progress. Though the pests that tried to stop the Twi'lek would have to be dealt with if they continued to meddle.

The old, Dark Jedi leader was ready to create more armies of the dark side and finally rule the galaxy. Not even the wretched Jedi could stop him...

    ~ ~ ~

Once Tep made it inside Dagen's chamber, the older man smiled and stood up from his chair. His chambers were filled with glowing, green jars of liquid that contained hideous creatures. They were placed on shelves by the wall like trophies. His chamber was also eerie yet decorated.

Standing before the young Twi'lek, he was very proud of Tep. He even went as far as to treat him like a son. Ever since he took the boy under his wings, he felt power inside Tep. Power that would be useful to him.

Dagen also saw another man that was fueled by the dark side. He was a bit skeptic but decided to trust his apprentice's judgement. For now.

"Rise." He grinned at the two men and nodded. "You have done well, Tep. I am pleased that you have gathered more subjects. However, our enemies are getting closer to the truth. We must create more mutants if we're able to defeat the Jedi and their allies."

He turned to raise his bushy eyebrow at Niluk and smiled with a calm expression. "And who is your new friend, Tep?"
