So i just thought of creating this thread here. This is a very popular character like Boba Fett, Maul has only increased in popularity since his on screen appearance and with each new appearance in move and tv show he gets more and more complex. Reliable leakers said this show is likley the next after Bad Batch and might air ongoing with Bad Batch. It is likley this will be revealed at disney gallery day november 12th. This show will show us Maul's rise in the underworld as he creates his criminal empire after his losses in clone wars. This show might tie in with Bad Batch and we see both Maul and Dryden Vos cameo in Bad Batch. Dryden Vos will likley be Maul's right hand man be with him most of the time as leader of Crimson Dawn. Bad Batch can deal with mostly clone arc and this show deal with the underworld arc post clone wars.

When they are reporting yeah and if not the other source is trust worthy, BSL.

I wonder if this show could do an arly version of Darth Talon, have Maul get an apprentice and train her as a sith, take some inspiration from the Maul storyline that would be in GL' ST trilogy Era.

I still find this ridiculous. Maul was randomly chosen to feature at the end of Solo despite it not fitting with what had already been done in TCW and Rebels, and so a series is now being made to make it all fit together? Maul was intended to be the opposite of Obi-wan in Rebels, the dark hermit to Kenobi - the light hermit. Both lost everything at the end of the Clone Wars, both living a life of hiding from the Empire ever since. Solo:ASWS messed that up big time. I haven't watched Bad Batch past ep4 (wasn't enjoying it) so don't know what they have done so far to build Maul back up from nothing (so that he can be knocked down yet again).

That was for the cancelled Maul video game right?

Eh.....I'll watch it, but with Bad Batch s2, Kenobi, Andor, I don't want another series set in the dark times right now.

Focus on another era, preferably a Jedi focused show.

If they don't want to go Old Republic yet, what about a High Republic animated series, focusing on different characters then the book cast? That era is big enough for more then just books/comics/The Acolyte. Or maybe a Luke Skywalker animated series post RoTJ.

It would be a huge shame if they took away all chances of us getting a live action Maul arc. And they already done a fair bit in animation with him already. And Crimson dawn may be the last big arc for him.

Maul's rise in criminal under world with Crinson Dawn will probarly be Maul's last arc before we see him in Solo, we see how he becomes this godfather of the underworld and all others fear him. I thik we might get live action Maul, still but with a Qira series.

In live action they have the issue of having to dub Maul's voice. Okay with just a few short lines or in a hologram, but as a main character with a lot of lines it would get quite noticeable and weird.

I agree it would be extra work, but if done right it wouldn't be noticeable.

I think Maul really should get his moment back in live action. Many other characters are getting this chance to gel live action with the animated. Maul should get that chance too.

Sam Witwer should just play him in live action, problem solved. With makeup and prosthetics they could get him to look close enough.

Well thats a shame. Seems like a missed oppotunity. Maul started in live action. We need to see that gel with the animation. Just like they are doing with Kenobi and Ahsoka.

I don't think live action Maul is out just yet. This show will be a Solo prequel with Maul and Crimson Dawn, probarly around same time as Bad Batch. And we will see his shadow collective thas consist of Crimson Dawn, Balck Sun and the Pyke syndicate. I think a live action Maul might come later when Qira gets her own series.

I don't even think anyone really cares anymore do they?

LRM piggybacking of someone elses scoop again? Why I'm shocked ;)
Well it was a ****** thing of him to do and the biggest reason for me as to why I don't want Maul in live action anymore is because Ray Park simply doesn't have the acting chops to pull of the more complex Maul that Witwer has voiced.

The role belongs to Sam now, he's by far the more superior choice. Just do it in animation

It would be like replacing Temuera with Bradley Dee Baker. IMO Ray Park is live-action Maul. Even if he isn't the voice. Visually and physically he is Maul. He originated Maul.

Maul is caked under a ridiculous amount of makeup. I know Ray Park's physicality and stuntwork both contribute dramatically to the role, at least as personified in TPM, but I don't think recasting a different warm body for Witwer to dub over is out of the question either. They could get away with it, and as long as the series itself is good, I think fans will quickly adjust and casual viewers won't even notice.

Lucasfilm have been fairly loyal when it comes to the cast. So i don't think they would recast personally.

I think Lucasfilm are aware of how the cast affected the legacy of the series. There would be no maul without Ray Park. He wouldn't have been brought back in Clone Wars if it wasn't for his popularity, which is probably thanks to Ray Park.

They brought him back for the mo-cap fight in the siege of Mandalore and heck if you look at the CGI model, he even looks like Ray Park face-wise Surprisingly. They actually modeled his face on Ray Park.

Its like if you are gonna do Boba, no auditions needed. its gonna have to be temuera due to canon. And apparently recasting Luke seems to be a no no and they would rather CGI him. And even get Hamil in to do basically Mo-cap. Which i ain't sure how much his Mo-Cap even impacted anything.

Its still possible he could be in Lando. If they want to follow up on Solo. But its still kinda a shame that they couldn't give Maul a live-action arc before he dies on tatooine.

Lando will likley be pre-Solo, so we get Dryden Vos as face of the Crimson Dawn when Lando starts working for him. MAybe A MAul cameo in hologram with Dryden. This animated show will likley show us their partnership.
