Cuddling vs. Snuggling

Alright, some of my friends and I were discussing this today. We asked ourselves, "What's the difference between cuddling and snuggling?" Here's what we came up with.

I have not yet partaken in either Cuddling or Snuggling, but my friends have.

1) Cuddling: Cuddling happens when two people are sitting together, usually on a couch or big chair, sometimes the bed. These two people are in close physical contact, arms, legs, feet, etc all touching, maybe with a little movement and caressing, but not too much.

2) Snuggling: Snuggling is exactly like Cuddling, excet for a few "enhancements." First, Snuggling has a decidedly increased amount of movement, with some more carressing. The other big difference in Snuggling, is lip action, i.e kissing, nibbling, etc. In Cuddling, there is no lip action. As soon as the lips come into play, you have moved from Cuddling to Snuggling.

whats comes after snuggling?

 

if you're sleeping together (no sex, just sleeping), is that cuddling, or snuggling?

or just sleeping?

That all depends on whether or not there is any lip action (aside from a kiss good morning or night or whatever).

 

I've not partaken of them either, but your distinctions sound good.

i really don't know what comes after snuggling, i mean the stuff i have is just really on a whim and we would never cuddle or snuggle,

i have this funny story, my grilfriend and i, we where playing super empire stikes back and then we started making out but i would laugh everytime i would hear the main theme and she kept on asking me why i was laughing, but really, it seems like we skipped the cuddling or snuggling part

I never said there was any real order, I was just making the distinction.

 

cuddle- to fondle in the arms; hug tenderly. To nestle ;snuggle.The act of cuddling; a hug or embrace.


snuggle- To lie or press close together; cuddle.To curl up closely or comfortably; nestle: snuggled happily under the covers.
To draw close or hold closely, as for comfort or in affection; hug.


Theres the actual definitions for you if it helps any..

 

Well, I never trust official definitions, as they never seem t answer anything more than broad definitions.

Ex. Terrorism's definition in Webster's is way too broad for real life application.

I have snuggled before, but there was no lip action.

It was after a marching band festival. During our performance, it started to rain.
And rain.
And rain.


We got back to the charter buses and the AC was WAY up, so we were wet and freezing.

She had a stadium blanket.
So, although we got together under the blanket with the sole purpose of warming up.....then she started massaging my shoulders......





We got REALLY warm.






And that's all I am at liberty to say.

Office Space had a good example of Cuddling being interupted before it moved on to Snuggling.
