ST Daisy Ridley (Rey) in the ST

Well, that's of course the first scene of Episode VIII which we know will have weird stuff in it.

The latest Force for Change video with Daisy:

1) red shot eyes - swimming, too much reading, or night shootings.
2) on her right arm is a noticable tan line with red marks - part of her costume or from being tied up in the film.

 

How do you guys notice these things? I guess she has been studying for her degree? Not noticed the lines? Can anyone put up a still? Anyways its 2:15 in the morning here. I needs some sleep. Speak to you guys in the morning, good night xxx

Looks like shes on VIII set.

 

I didn't notice the red eyes (but to be fair I don't the clearest image on my computer). I did notice that she looks a bit tired (not surprising) and kind of the lines on her arm. But it's hard to tell what those are just from that.

Oh and yeah, the whole bit was cute.

Real or tabloid nonsense? I can't imagine a scenario where Rey wouldn't Force-choke or Force-slam the stormtrooper against the wall/ceiling for this, but it does seem a bit out-of-kilter with what they have done with Rey so far, in terms of not objectifying her or defining her by her gender. It's also a bit of a tired old joke. Still, in KK we trust ...

 

If this article is true something makes me wondering:

I'd say that this would indicate that Benicio is either a bounty hunter or someone of the first order. So the "leak" that said he is from the republic could be scrap

 

I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of calculating its width. Based on Daisy's height of 5'7", her arm length is 24.5" (from shoulder inseam to wrist), those imprints are approximately 3" wide. Therefore, it appears to be some sort of restrictive garment consistent with markings left on for long duration.

p.s. Or it could just simply be a tan-line.

 

I'd say the lines are from her arm wraps.

But as for Benicio, I'm really really hoping he's someone in Bloodline.

 

These marks are obviously caused by her resistance outfit's arm wraps.

C'mon peeps... just having some fun speculating. I just thought the markings looked fresh since Daisy doesn't appear to have them in any of the awards events or that Q&A Facebook.

 

Sure.... Let's all zoom in on pictures of Daisy and analyze marks and what could have made those marks............................................................

What the sanctimonious sarcasm ... Turnip White asked to see stills and voilà! Perhaps I'm used to being callous, but I really don't see these pics as inappropriate. I'm merely speculating these marks are new and I don't think it stems from her obvious arm wraps.

 

Yep it was my fault. I could not see the video properly on my phone, also half asleep. So I apologize if it came across as creepy (at least it was not the feet - Dark Times indeed........

To be fair, it was in the context of "what might it mean for her character moving forward?" And several people, including me, mentioned not being able to see them very well. So, I think that, in this case, it's ok/acceptable. And yeah, I think that the marks on her arms are from her arm wraps.

Her eys, IDK, maybe Daisy just had a long day or something?

 

If the markings are from the arm wraps, why is it only noticeable on her right arm? I think Rey is wearing something new, that wraps around her biceps and is about 3" wide, something similar to Padme.

With all these dramatic roles lining up, I'm now starting to wonder if Daisy really lost the part to Vikander for Tomb Raider or someone talked some sense into her about doing another action flick.

 

There's no need to "talk sense into her" for that. Because two action flicks ain't going to typecast her. I point again that Harrison was doing Han Solo and Indiana Jones at the same time and yet he had no problem expanding out acting-wise later on.

Yes, I think that the people behind the film just flat-out wanted Vikander for the part.

 

They still seem to be gambles neither The Lost Wife and this for example are films been sold by by CAA at Cannes. I guess that CAA are trying to look after her but they still not 100% nailed on. Fingers cross both Daisy and CAA secure both deals

 

the smartest move for her right now IMO would be to choose independent films over big blockbusters, at least for now. Ford was lucky at the time, but most action-oriented blockbusters nowadays are mostly substandard or just plain annoying. Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac have very interesting careers so far, they can jump from a small movie to x men stuff to scorcese or whoever and back to indie sci-fi or drama before the next star wars...there is no future in being the next lara croft or the new transformers action-heroine.
