cool news! I was SURE they wouldn't take the risk of featyring any characters of the ST again and play it safe. I was wrong. She's back!

 

Now let's speculate. Will they create an open Jedi Order or stay true to GL's vision?

That was never a serious statement.

 

The fact that Dave Filoni is involved makes me think we’ll see Rey and Ahsoka interact.

 

I may have missed something but I don’t think Dave is involved in this film. He’s directing his own that wraps up the MandoVerse.

 

i'm doing math: Rey was 18 in TFA and 19 in TLJ and TROS. If the new film takes place 15 years later she's supposed to be 34 by now. Daisy Ridley is turning 31 in a couple of days, and she'll be 32 next year when they start shooting (if this movie is indeed the next movie). 32 vs 34 i think that's working.

 

Ah, you’re probably right. I only saw the picture of everyone on stage and assumed this was a new unified trilogy.

 

I can definitely get behind this. I can only hope that it doesn't get stuck in development hell and sees the light of day. Happy thoughts, guys, happy thoughts!

What a huge surprise, very curious to what will come.

 

Somehow Rey Palpatine returned. I didn't think Daisy would come back for another couple of decades. Definitely a big surprise. I have to imagine we'll get some Ghost Luke action too.

I am into the idea of the Jedi Order FINALLY being rebuilt but I wish we had gotten this in the ST and I really wish it wasn't being rebuilt by Palpatines granddaughter who took the Skywalker name and made out with her abuser.

 

Hopefully she’s changed her hair style in 15 years ☺️

 

Awesome news. Rey is back. Glad they are doing a little bit of a time skip. This no doubt ends tons of rumors about how Disney and Lucasfilm are running scared from the internet.

 

Yeah, so much for those rumors yesterday about the “MandoVerse” being the center of the Star Wars world going forward. It’s ending. Lol.

 

Good. It's time to start exploring new time periods. I imagine we will get a bunch of post Rise of Skywalker content over the next five to ten years with this new movie being set in 50ABY.

 

Seeing a new Order will be neat.

But more than that, I want to see a drastically different galactic status quo to anything we've gotten with regards to force users.

Like perhaps Rey won't choose to have the Order embedded in the government, and won't continue a lot of the old rules in the code (and especially not going around the galaxy taking children from their families, never allowing them to return). So instead maybe there's force users running around everywhere, and many Orders with different codes, different names, different weapons, etc, who don't all see eye to eye, and traditional extremists who won't stand for all this impure inclusivity.
