In all seriousness, I genuinely hope she copes well with this. I always liked both Daisy and Rey, and the Rey movie is my most anticipated of the upcoming SW films. I would love it if it comes out and is well-received so that Daisy can get some retroactive love/respect the way we're seeing with Hayden and other prequel stars these days. But, first things first, she needs to focus on her health!

John Rocha has heard that Daisy Ridley will be in the Shawn Levy SW movie. Rey is in the script that he is currently writing.

He also hinted that Shawn Levy is replacing Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy as the director.

 

Doubtful as sharmeens movie is the furthest along except Mandalorian and Grogu. Levy's movie be 4- 5 years away and his movie is not announced. He might have Rey in the film but it wont be Rey's New Jedi Order movie.

 

Update: Rocha didn’t say that Daisy Ridley would be in the movie, he just says Rey is in the current script that’s being written right now and it could be a much older Rey. I don’t understand why you’d bring Rey back with a different actress when you have Daisy Ridley already but crazier things have happened.

 

I think its just 15 year older Rey that Sharmeens movie will have.

 

Maybe it be better to stick with the thread with the funny name when talking about pure rumors from extremely dubious sources.

 

Yeah I’d rather have Ridley in old lady makeup than an elderly actress, but I guess the latter would be cheaper/ easier to do.

 

They already brought Ridley out on stage at Celebration. Whatever they do with the Rey character while Ridley is still a working actor it will be with her.

 

There's an inherent spoiler in that statement if it's true; and that is it assumes Rey survives Sharmeen's NJO film, which will undermine the stakes of the NJO film knowing she isn't at risk of being killed off.

 

He hinted that Shawn Levy is replacing Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

 

I'm calling it now, this movie will never get off the ground. Seems to be the way with Disney now, announce a movie, wait a year or 2 then announce it's cancellation.

 

I hope the movie is about Rey being the first human to swim around Mon Cala.

 

With this they revealed the Actress and era. It will go off the ground just little delayed.

And i really doubt that regarding his recent comments about Timelines and them firing Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy who came up with the Rey idea. Its her story.

 

Yeah they aren't going to bring out Ridley and then be like "Here she is back, in old lady makeup!"

Make Rey the Villain. That way Daisy can work less, but still be a leading figure plot wise without needing to work every day.

My only questions regarding this film is will Rey have returned the Falcon to Chewie, and BB-8 to Poe? That was a huge flaw in her character, stealing things from her friends like that

This kinda makes me wonder what they're gonna do with the long lived legacy characters like Chewie, R2, and 3PO. I don't really care about BB-8 as he was just an R2 stand in. The Millennium Falcon is so iconic that it's almost like a character in and of itself. I wouldn't mind it if Rey kept the Falcon and Chewie, R2 and 3PO were her entourage.

 

Rey always has adventures with BB-8. Chewie gets the Falcon as Rey dosent need it when she runs a Jedi School. Maybe it can work as the school buss. 3CPO is protical and works best in service in public service like he did with both Padme and Leia. And in ST especially in TLJ, i get the sense that Poe and 3CPO will work together in future. Poe has most scenes with him out of the new characters.

R2D2 can go with Rose as she will work for New Republic. Chewie retired on Kashyyyk with his Family as a wokkie in his late mid life crisis, 250 of 400 life cycle. I doubt we see all these legacy characters in The New Jedi Order movie, probably only one or two.
