Anakin Skywalker is still the chosen one and Rey is just another part of the prophecy

Daisy Ridley discusses the New Jedi Order movie and hints that it will be the first in a series

“I feel like the new one/new ones will be so interesting. Time has passed and a lot has changed for me, personally, so it’ll be interesting to come back to someone who I know so well, but in such a different moment. For me to inhabit Rey again after all the time that we haven’t seen her, it’s actually scary, but it’s also exciting.”

I know many assume this is going to be episode 10,11 and 12. Probably more wishful thinking to go back to nostalgic tradition. But lets be honest, if this was episode 10,11 and 12 it would be have revealed a long time ago.

And i know some wil say oh they are just waiting to reveal it. No that would have been one of the first things they would have revealed about this film if this was going to be episode 10.

Never too late it to change it to episode 10 now, though.

On the other hand, the plural wording on her part could mean that she’s just referring to Sharmeen’s movie and Levy’s movie simultaneously. Even if the rumor is true that Rey is supposed to be a really old lady in the Levy one, I’d rather they just put Daisy in old-lady makeup, rather than cast a new actress.

Rey is older in Levy's one, 15 years older. They probably talk about age from TROS to Levy's movie. And episode 10,11 and 12 will get a generation of new heroes when Rey is old like Luke and Obi Wan.

No, the Sharmeen one is the one that’s 15 years after TRoS. The Levy one is apparently like waaaaay far in the future, to the point where Rey is almost dead.

Wait… when did Levy’s film become a Rey movie? I hadn’t heard that. If that’s true then I think it’s pretty obvious this is Episodes 10, 11 and 12. I mean more obvious than it already is. :p

Jeff Sneider says Sharmeen’s movie was originally gonna be about Rey as an elderly lady (back when Lindeloff was still writing it) but then they decided to make it only 15 years later so that Daisy could come back (which was when Lindelof got switched out for Knight). Supposedly Lindelof wanted it to be about Rey training her first students but LFL didn’t think it’d make sense for her to wait that long, but they still wanted to do something with “old lady Rey,” which is when Levy came into the picture. So basically: one story evolved into two separate stories.

Keep in mind that this all came from Jeff. He’s usually been right about these things for the last few years, but obviously everything must be taken with a grain of salt until we hear it from Disney/LFL themselves.

Yes, I realize that. I have watched the movies once or twice. I meant when did it become clear that Levy was directing a Rey film? I must have missed that piece of information.

I’ll take it with a huge grain of salt then.

Careful; the amount of salt needed really isn't healthy.

I understand the distrust of Sneider, but just to remind people what he’s gotten right so far:

-He was the first to break the story that Lindelof was writing a Rey movie the day before variety reported it.
-One year later, he broke the story that Lindelof was leaving said Rey movie (again, the day before variety reported it).
-Shortly after, he broke the story the day before celebration 2023 that Filoni was getting his own movie and that all future content would be “codified” around his ideas (he was promoted to CCO shortly after celebration).
-He was the first to break the story that the Russos were returning for avengers 5 and 6 and that RDJ would be Doom, a few days before comic-con this year.
-He was the first to claim that Levy’s movie would be far in the future, and while that hasn’t been confirmed yet, Levy has at least admitted that his film would be far removed from anything else in the known SW timeline.

The only major thing he has gotten wrong recently is the claim that Reeves’s batverse would be folded into the bigger DCU at large, but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Zaslav kinda wants that.
