Jaina and Jag are getting married. As a groomsman Zekk is at the rehearsal dinner. Jag connects some love letters he had seen once to Zekk?s mother. He and Zekk are brothers.

Write Jag's POV: the discovery, his disclosure to Zekk and then Zekk?s reaction.

Must include J/J mush, Zekk crying, and a food fight (with chocolate pudding)

Actually, at first I was "What did I get myself into??? I haven't been able to write in months!" But then I found a couple of fragments that NEEDED to be compleated, and the "Dare" hit just the right note!

The dare: Angst fic: Nothing funny. At all. If I laugh, you've failed. There may be mention of a relationship (i.e. if you killed someone's significant other) but no romance scenes. This is to be pure angst. Must contain these words: kaleidoscope, Boom!, laugh, and switch.

obi_ew?s dare:
Obi-Wan retires to Tatooine in order to watch over Luke. Unfortunately it requires credits to survive so he's forced to get a job in a local gambling cantina. There he meets a woman and falls in love, marrying her and having a child. Eventually the owner dies and gives the cantina to Obi. He runs the casino, dealing with the rough types while raising his child and caring for his wife, all the while he has to deal with a blue ghostie Qui-Gon who spends his time in the great Beyond, needling and frustrating his former apprentice. Write a vig that shows a day in the life of Obi having to deal with these things.

"Within 1000 to 2500 words, you must write a viggie in which Han and Leia switch bodies for a day. This is pre-ESB, while they still hate each other. Leia has to try and figure out some technical description for fixing something and find something particularly odd/out of character in Han's room. Han must have to attend a Council meeting and also find something rather odd from Leia in her room. Oh, and Leia can't understand Chewie. For extra points, mention Luke's crush on Leia and Han having to deal with it (and his own feelings he wants to hide for her), but it?s not necessary (though I'd love to read it!)."

Write a story in which Jango Fett does not die on Geonosis and Padme and Jango Fett plot together to take over the galaxy. In this scenario, Padme is married to Anakin. But you can take this story in any direction you want: angst, drama, humor, etc.

This is the Governor Tarkin that we all know and despise. He was a villain, nothing more. Or was he?

I dare you to take a look into Tarkin?s mind and write a story about him as a teenager. What was his life like? Who raised him? How did his heart become so cold that he could someday give the order to destroy a planet without flinching?

This does not have to be long; just give me some insight into the inner-workings of Tarkin?s mind as a boy, before he fulfilled his destiny and joined the ranks of the Galactic Empire ? before the Empire even existed.

4) Mandalore challenges HK to a duel for insulting his "Mandalorian honor".
5) A reference must be made somewhere in the story to "bananas". Anywhere.

Ah, that would mean both me and Zonoma could actually still be in the running but it would be like handing in a paper late - points taken off for running away with words. LOL.

I guess it would be up to the judges then.

 

I would definitely say that your pieces would be eligible! Like someone mentioned, points might be taken off for the guidelines portion, but in a well written piece (as these were) that would not amount to much of a handicap!

 

Like I said Batman Begins gave me some inspiration ...but I made the mistake of telling my roommate what the dare was (she reads some fanfic but has no interest in writing) and now she wants me to include a falling piano somehow...

Palpatine is a part-time Sith Lord, part-time struggling stand up comedian who is also a single father raising a teenaged Han Solo. Anakin, Obi-Wan, and the rest are members of the Jedi Council, who instead of being in charge of the clone army, are in charge of the Holo-Net networks. Will Palpatine ever get a pilot for his show? That's up for you to decide.
