i would love too see Dark Empire in 2003 Clone Wars style

Dark Empire is what Return of the Jedi should have been with Luke being more close to the Darkside even falling for a short time becoming either Palpatine or Vader apprentice then Vader and Luke duel against Palpatine in the end imagine Korriban or Byss in live action instead of Endor

 

And then R2 becomes death, the destroyer of worlds.

 

R2 as a mini-World Devastator? Don't give JJ any more bad ideas.

Sith Lords like to play act, we this with Palpatine and his former apprentice Maul all the time. They even alter their voices and use themselves as bait.

 

I always wanted a Dark Empire 4 but Crimson Empire is a good spin off

 

I used to have a hard time appreciating Crimson Empire the first time around because I found the art - especially the faces - utterly ridiculous. Once I managed to look past that during my recent reread, I loved it - the worldbuilding is great, the way it uses elements from existing canon is delightful and the story is fun and unique. I rank it up there with the X-Wing series as one of my favorite pieces of the pre-PT EU now.

 

Crimson Empire kickstarted my love of EU for the most part.

 

Dark Empire #4 basically is the first YJK arc with Holo-Emperor Palpatine back once more!

And yes the Watership Down soundtrack kinda fits even storywise to the First Order, Empire down and on the run regrouping. Even the brutal bunny badguy in the movie fits White Eyes Palpatine!

Cloning is a great way to have shells to pour one’s essence into. It always seemed reasonable to me that Lord Sidious would have clones of himself, to ensure his immortality.

 

But even clones are not empty shells... I mean, imagine Palpatines clones being as cunning as he is and attempting to outsmart him to take his place before he can hop into them?

Uhoh... what if that actually happened? We know Palpatine used Exegol and cloning before ROTJ already. What if one of those clones escaped and he ever since feared his clone to return or truly fight him. That is who he sensed in the Unknown, which Vader couldn't, that is his nemesis. Not Snoke as originally thought, nor another entity. Palpatine most fears himself, his one clone who got away and is as powerful and smart as him.

So is TROS Palpatine the clone that got away? Or is it truly the Palpatine returned that died at Endor?

Did Palpatines contingency entail him coming back to life at Jakku, which was prevented? Was the First Order the real Palpatines plan, built around the Eclipse waiting for his return and not Exegol and his clone-s own Dark Side Theocracy? Was Exegol vs. the First Order actually Palpatine vs. Palpatine?

 

A fair point, unless the Clones were made more obedient like Jango’s clones, and then when Palpatine pours his essence into the clone he takes control and overrides the obedient mind.

Or he keeps the clones in stasis and pours his essence into them before they could resist.

 

They are Palpatine clones, they find a way to wake up early and not be noticed

Besides, altering them would be risky, he would not want to be obedient of he fails to overwrite that!

 

I can envisage many Palpatines all fighting for supremacy, like the Antipopes. Only one Palpatine will rise to the throne as the True Emperor.
