I didn't get in before the edit timer runs out but who like RPGs? the text based story driven ones? sent me a PM, I like to know your opinion on something.

 

stargate is cancelled after its 9th season? thats it??? no more???

 

Season 10 is airing in the U.S as we speak but after Season 10 SciFi said they won't be renewing it for an 11th Season and that the contract with MGM prevents them making Season 11 with someone else. Let's hope they change their minds or that the show's creators and MGM finds a way to continue the SG-1 franchise.

is RDA still with stargate? havent seen since season 8

 

He left at the end of Season 8, small appearances during Season 9. (tonight's episode will have Don S. Davis returning for a guest role as General Hammond.) RDA left to spent time with his daughter and Season 10 will have him coming back and SciFi announced the cancellation before even seeing what RDA's return would do to the ratings.

I feel abit frustrated about all this.

The demise of SG1 brings hope for more Stargate movies. Bring back the real Jack O Neill, Kurt Russell!!

(In other words, I loved the movie, the series..not so much)

I thought I read somewhere that there is talk about making the original movie into a trilogy.... like making two sequels

 

The real Jack O'Neill is Richard Dean Anderson, Kurt Russell on the otherhand played Jack O'Neil. One has two 'l's while the other "isn't as fun." (SG-1 joke)

When I was little, I loved MacGyver. It was what pulled me into SG-1 when it first came out cause of RDA.

Atlantis is good, what they did with the show so far is that they interact between the two. Makes it alot more richer and fun if you love those little details. I am waiting for Ch7 to air the next season of it later in the year to finish that darn 'To be continued' ploy. It is different than SG-1 in some ways which is good, but I've been watching the original series for almost ten years now and Atlantis doesn't have one key ingredient: Richard Dean Anderson.

There has been assorted amount of news about Stargate movies for years now. One about SG-1 with the show's cast, another is SG 2 and 3 made by the original creators with Kurt Russell and James Spader. We know MGM aren't going to abandon SG-1, so they might make a mini series, movie, who knows but I do feel sorry for Claudia Black and Ben Browder as they had their first show Farscape cancelled, joined the SG 'family' only to have it cancelled in their second season in the series.

I loved Ben Browder and Claudia Black in farscape. seen only the one episode where Claudia Black gueststarred on stargate in S8 I think....

 

Promethius Unbound was the episode you saw.
In Season 9 and onwards, Ben Browder does Lt Colonel Cameron Mitchell which is the new leader of SG-1, while Claudia Black(I didn't realise she was in Pitch Black) does Vala Mal Doran. Both are great additions to the SG-1 series.

 

so Carter aint leading SG-1?

 

Amanda Tapping was giving birth during that time so the opening episodes didn't have her in it and Claudia Black done such a great job filling in the gap that I'm missing her already and great to know she'll be back later on.

It's kinda like the Three Musketeers as Cameron Mitchell recovers from that Antarctica incident with Anubus and... basically after Season 8, SG-1 was disbanded and Ben Browder's character was offered a team of his own to lead but he wanted to join SG-1 so he set about reuniting the team. Carter was busy with some R&D science team to join them until just recently. We had Vala to 'keep us company' during that time.

and speakin of missing - Steve Irwing RIP

 

I know. It's a massive shock to everyone and it's a shame what happened. I feel sorry for his children

 

yeah and now they're milking that cow til its dry

 

They just had the service on tv for him. I can't beleive they were selling tickets to it.

Steve Irwin's death was such a freak accident and we were all shocked by it. My son used to watch him on T.V. Granted, he was an extremist on his show, but he was also entertaining. I thought he was insane w/some of the stuff he did but that was part of his draw.

 

Guess where I'm going in 2 weeks?











ENGLAND and SCOTLAND!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited! I only get to go for a week but it'll still be fantastic!!!!! I've never been on a trip like this. It's a dream come true!
