In retrospect, it’s not too surprising that Headland opted to keep Plagueis a Muun. Like Filoni and Hidalgo, she’s very attached to the EU. Hopefully she does veer closer to whatever notes Lucas left about Plagueis rather than replicate the EU’s story. I know some fans get upset if the EU’s version of things is abandoned, but I don’t want to see the same story told again.

In any case, hopefully we see more of this design sooner rather than later. The fact that the lower half of his face is in shadow makes me wonder if he has the breathing mask that he eventually wore for a while in the EU. I hope so, because that’s actually a part of the design guidance that Lucas had provided for the Publishing group.

Here’s how Gregory Titus, the artist who worked on the Black Series of toys for years, depicted this version of Plagueis in one of his sketches for the Black Series toy of him from about 11 years ago. Maybe something like this would work well in live action.

Chances are great that it is indeed Plagueis

. I'm pleased with the reveal that hints at a bigger story coming in season 2, which I hope features him more heavily. Is he Qimir's master? Probably. Will he usurp Osha as his new apprentice, replacing Qimir? Possibly. Although only temporarily, as he will move on to Sidious at some point in the future.

Maybe he will push Qimir to help Osha train to reach full potential and wait that Mae is trained by Vern and then complete the ascension ritual and merge the two obtaining a super powerful force user that will then kill Qimir and take his place?

 

Maybe when the twins are merged back to 1 person they'll become baby Palpatine?
