I always said if they did another Vader comic I hoped they would set one post Empire Strikes Back and how he becomes more the Vader in ROTJ. So i'm cool with this.
Ienco! Now this is someone I've followed for a while, great to see he's getting a big break with Marvel. He also knows how to digitally colour.
I'm glad we get more of Vader andit's after ESB. I like to know what he felt like after esb and before rotj. Maybe we get some insight into that Palpaine suspected Vader becoming a little soft. Greg has done good with Star wars main comics and cant wait for his vader run.
For me the whole Post Empire Pre Jedi stuff is probably the most interesting time...How does Luke go from "THAT"S NOT TRUE...THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE" to.."My father can be redeemed" and Vader going from killing everyone left right and center to ....nope Emperor bad, time to die but not seize power.
Well this will be a hot pick up when it comes out in hard back. Hopefully it will will anyway as I’m still waiting for volume two of Charles souls run.
So I'm wondering how the revenge storyline is going to work considering how Obi-Wan is dead, the Lars are dead, Bail is dead, Padmé's mortician is dead and Yoda doesn't die until RotJ.
Only person I can think of at this point in the timeline is Leia. Vader could see her as having corrupted Luke.
Who he can't take on directly so, it'll have to be someone else and, since this is the Empire, there's always someone else to blame. Of course, the perpetrator for setting Luke on his path to Cloud City is.... Vader.
I'm hopnig we get Vader visiting Padmee's grave like i have seen in some fan made pictures. This would be the perfect time for the ghost of Padmee to haunt and the memorise of their past and some Ashoka there. Maybe we get a inside look into vader like the first where he killed Anakin and chocked Padmee. This time Anakin kills vader and saves Padmee. that could be like right before ROTJ. I think we will get more Anakin in this vader issue.
What if he has a hand in leading the rebellion to endor so he can make his movie on palpatine? Could be a set up for that?
I mean, Vader could go hunting pretty much anybody Luke ever knew on Tatooine, as well as any Rebels he was close with.
yah this is a cool time to see Vader because his character changes quite a lot between Empire and Return of the Jedi, I like to think him saying "No, I am your father" is the beginning of Anakin Skywalker's return as Vader has viewed "The Jedi" as weak and destroyed. But him admitting to Luke that he is his father seemed to spark something in him. And cool that it is launching beside the post ESB Star Wars issue, like when the two books first launched in 2015. I was thinking Xizor would show up in the Star Wars book but more potential here.
I’m excited because Vader in this era is very calculating. He knows about his son and the potential he carries. By now, he knows of the limits of the emperor. So this time period has super opportunities to introduce very good stories.
