Darth Vader Televised Specials to Screen in Spring (Cancelled)

It looks like we might be getting TV specials with Darth Vader

Lego? Animated? Live action? Claymation? Car commercials?

 

It won't be Lego. The Lego Yoda specials are listed with the Lego brand. And there is no mention of any of the currently running advertising campaigns featuring Star Wars characters, so I doubt it's a car commercial either. So I'm expecting in universe content of some kind. What's questionable is whether it's live action or animated, and how substantial this series of specials will be.

 

That's a good point, actually.

I was being facetious with the car commercials.

It can't be anything significant like a live-action special if it's coming out in less than a year, unless they've been working on this for months now. I'd bet it's animated and a tie-in to Rebels, if not related to the show itself.

 

Well there were reports of Star Wars related materials being filmed at Pinewood back in August. If that was for this and it's just a special or two then post production would be done by spring. It doesn't take that long to put together a TV series, let alone a feature length TV "special".

(I'm making an assumption about the feature length part)

 

It's interesting news, to be sure, but there's just so little to go on that's it's hard to even speculate, really.

The "Digital Library" aspect intrigues me, too, though. Maybe we'll finally see some of the more fringe elements of the franchise, such as Star Wars: Droids, making an online appearance?

Which he pretty much wanted to do to Hoth, before Ozzel made a mess of that plan.

 

TCW had its lead in movie and Rebel would have its mini-series lead in so it could work.

 

Chad Vader. Disney wanted to save some money.

 

Also I would like to point out it it a Darth Vader Themed Special not a Darth Vader Special.

Hope we get to see some good chase scenes like from The Jedi Who Knew Too Much. Just more Vader-ified and Imperialized.

 

In my head, it's already an animated TCW-Sith-Rebels bridging miniseries that wraps up TCW, closes up Anakin's character arc into Vader, and sets up Rebels. Yay!

 

Just saw Vader in a commercial for Disney Land/World on Disney Channel. Unfortunately I feel this is the kind of "TV Special" they might be referring to. They've already announced a Phineas and Ferb Star Wars episode. Keep your eyes peeled for the "Good Luck Vader" special!
